Review titled Excellent Service.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 November 2022
Excellent service on Friday evening (4/11/22) after I had discovered that I had run out of my repeat medication, and faced the prospect of an uncomfortable weekend as a result. I thought that it would be too late to rectify the situation, but telephoned Northolme Surgery in any event. The extremely helpful person at the surgery took my details, checked the medication, liaised with the relevant pharmacist, and had everything ready for collection the same evening. She achieved all this quietly, quickly and with good humour, and I am grateful for her attentive intervention.

Review titled Friendly and helpful receptionists
Rated 5 stars out of 5

All the staff who answer the phone, whether it be at a very busy time early morning or later in the day, are very friendly and helpful. They do their very best to get you to see the person you would like to see. If that can’t be done they offer alternatives and in particular they do let you have face to face if that’s what you request.

I had an appointment at fernley medical centre, 560 Stratford Road, Sparkhill, Birmingham b11 4an on the 18th of Nov 2022 at 05:40 pm. I was stuck in traffic and reached surgery at 05:45 pm and explain to the receptionist the staff opens heartily honoured me and the doctor checked me, thank you fernley medical centre. While I was waiting for my appointment an old man came into surgery, and start to talk with the receptionist, but he does not speak English. After nearly 20 minutes story unfolded that he was Romanian and can’t speak English, he only speaks Romanian, have no other help for him and was even not registered for surgery. His son kicks him off his home, and he is on the road. A receptionist at the reception desk handled him with a smiley face, she spoke with him politely for nearly 10 minutes, even though he was sometimes rude to her. Then she said to him take a seat and I will come back to you, a couple of minutes later her other colleagues came to the reception desk she discussed with her and then they both try to help him, unfortunately, the language was the main barrier for them, even that old man not able to tell that from which Country he is. After a couple of minutes, one Romanian patient came to attend the surgery, and they both requested to her that might be this old man is from Romania. If he is from Romania, can you please help us as an interpreter, the woman agreed and speak to him in the Romanian language, and he happily start talking with her? He confirmed that he is not registered with fernley medical centre, his son throws him on the road, and he wants to spend a night in the surgery. With the help of that Romanian patient, he will be able to contact with police, and another department, they were helping him, while I came back from the doctor. I appreciate the excellent professional service of both receptionists. I am proud to be registered with fabulous surgery, the doctors, nurses, and especially reception staff are all professional, cooperative, well-mannered, carrying and treat everyone like a family member. Thank you, fernley medical centre.

The service and support I received from the start to when the GP called was excellent. I felt I mattered. The Doctor was really good, listened to me and provided me with care which avoided a Hospital trip. The Receptionist was empathetic and as I couldn’t use online appointment system I called the Surgery and was talked through this and was also sent a link for next time. The GP called me, was very attentive and gave me peace of mind with advice. Even under the pressures NHS are under this Surgery are there to help and keep you safe at home. I recommend Parkside Surgery, the Healthcare Professionals do a fantastic job. Dr Syed called and he was very attentive and gave me peace of mind with his advice and prescribed me needed. Even under the pressures NHS are under this Surgery are there to help and keep you safe at home. I recommend Parkside Surgery the Healthcare Professionals do a fantastic job.
