    I have had a few medical issues over the last 6 months following hospital admission. Every time I have contacted the surgery I have been given appointment on same day or thereabouts. GP always responds to requests. I find the new system more efficient and effective than the old calling for appt/query. I had heard from other surgery patients how hard it is to get appts now, but I have had no problem. Thank you Hamilton Practice.

    Communicated need to see a gp on 9.6.23, got text confirming appointment at surgery face to face sat 17.6.23 at 14.15. Turned up. Surgery closed. No tel numbers provided worked. Got a call at 3pm from lister house asking where i was. Not funny. At no point was i communicated that my appointment was an out of hours at a different surgery. Problem is not minor. Advised i could be there in 5min, not good enough. Patients allocated 10mins and my appointment was at 2.15 - then why are you calling me at 3??? So hacked off, frustrated and totally demoralised. Advised contact surgery on monday. Seriously unhappy

    Normally I have always found all Doctors to be friendly, show empathy and be attentive! But today I saw a doctor whose bedside manner left a lot to be desired I found them rude with no empathy or even interest in listening to what I said. Having said that the diagnosis and treatment I was in agreement with but the experience of seeing this individual was extremely unpleasant! Still believe Hamilton Practice is a great practice despite this one individual!

    I’m writing this review to show my appreciation and gratitude for having a great Gp. I have always been made to feel very respected. My GP deserves a recognition for her great work. Can this message be passed to her boss please. Also all the receptionist are really polite and professional, so thank you Hamilton practice.

    Couldn’t ask for a better service for not only me but my toddler, I had an appointment within a couple of hours and could start his medication that evening, gives me peace of mind knowing he can be seen quickly. Doctor was kind and helpful

    Moved to Hamilton in 2020, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Wonderful, friendly and caring staff. Have since registered my children when they were born who I have also had a great reception for. When moving to the online service, we have had no issues, phone appointments or on the day face to face offered within a few hours of the requests being made. Gp’s have always been welcoming, warm and helpful. Gp / nursing team will usually greet you in reception, but also as I have a double buggy, they always come to help me manoeuvre around the surgery, without having to ask! Making me feel confident when I need to attend. I have not come across any issues in our three years at this surgery, and I can not thank all the team enough for a wonderful service they all provide.

    I’ve just had my second consecutive appointment cancelled and have now been waiting 2 months to be seen by a doctor. I have still not been given an appointment date and rudely told to wait to hear from the admin team until the 3rd January without any apology and was rudely hung up on. I’ve registered with a different surgery and would not recommend this surgery to anyone.

    Dear Mr Budd, In response to your very disappointing comments we would like to state that your appointments had to be postponed owing to the doctor's close family illness & bereavement. We do not take the decision to cancel or postpone appointments unless there are genuine & very good reasons for doing so. In any event, we note your face-to-face appointment with a doctor has been re-booked for the 4th January & that you were notified of this on the 30th December. Our extremely professional & caring receptionists have to handle hundreds of calls daily and we do not genuinely have any feedback to suggest they have been rude. If you would care to contact the Deputy Practice Manager at the surgery as to the approximate time/date of the call in which you say a receptionist was rude to you then we can seek out the recording of that call so that we may consider that aspect of your comments.

    I'm in a lot of pain at the mo & am waiting to have a cyst removed which will hopefully stop the pain. I've had to use the automated system lots to find the right pain relief while I'm waiting. There are a couple of occasions when it's taken a GP a few days to get back to me which was frustrating & upsetting when im in so much pain but I don't blame the GPs or the practice. The staff are fabulous & I feel like I've been listened to throughout & I bet they're just as frustrated as I am thar the referral is taking so long. I think this is a fantastic surgery with caring & extremely hard working staff. I have a range of complex medical problems & I've always felt supported & directed the right ways when necessary. I want to say thank you for all you do, your jobs must be harder than ever right now. I'm so grateful, thank you so much

    Can’t book an appointment, can’t even speak with a doctor!! New online booking system is a joke!! I have tried and tried to get onto it and it says temporary unavailable! Spoke with reception she kindly explained that they now can’t help have to go back online at allocated time. Next day so as she said still getting temporarily unavailable message, rang reception again she kindly took a message to pass onto my doctor, get called back few hours later to get told the doctor has seen my message and replied with “go online to fill out the form” so basically instead of the doctor seeing my message and helping me they have shut the door on me passing me back to the online system that clearly doesn’t work!!!

    Thank you for your recent review. The Hamilton Practice endeavour to give excellent patient care and all feedback is welcome. We do not have an online booking system. We do have an online digital consultation system whereby the medical request are reviewed directly by the doctor who then contacts the patient with the next action. In the past our appointment system would be to ring on the day between 8.00am and 9.00am and patients would be dealt with on a first-come-first-served basis. Once we had reached capacity, normally before 8.30am which is half an hour from opening, the patients would be told to try again the next day, often having waited more than half an hour in the telephone queue to get through to the Reception Team. Often the patients would have tried many times before being successful in obtaining an appointment. As with any appointment system, there has to be a maximum capacity and, when we reach this, we need to pause it, to give the doctor time to go through the medical requests already received. Even when we have had to do this, access to the surgery appointment system is still far more than the one hour between 8.00am and 9.00am that the old appointment system provided. The member of the Reception Team you spoke to should not have advised you that your medical query would be sent to doctor and for this we apologise. All medical requests must go via the digital system and we have supported our colleague in further training. I can see you successfully made your medical request which was reviewed by the doctor on the next day and you have subsequently been booked a face-to-face appointment. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope we have fully answered your concerns.
