Managed to get an appointment quite quickly and the doctor that saw me was friendly, efficient and very helpful. I was very happy with my experience (my family and I have used Mill Hill for 10+ years and would be happy to recommend them).

The dr listened , asked lots of questions and was sensitive to my situation. The examination was carefully explained and the referral to the hospital made.

Prescription was sent to the wrong pharmacy due to a system error by Mill Hill. My usual pharmacy tried calling the pharmacy that has my prescription but could not get through. I have also tried calling them and cannot get through. I called Mill Hill reception expecting that they would say sorry and that they would have a new prescription issued but instead no apology (until the very end of my conversation where I told them how awful the service was and that I would be writing this review) and was told I would have to physically visit the pharmacy which has my prescription and ask them to send it back in order for a new revised prescription to be sent to my family pharmacy (which we have used for over 16 years). When I asked to speak to the GP to try and resolve the problem they said earliest appointment would be 7th December 2023. Just when you think life is hard enough your GP practice fails to listen, show common sense and empathy and makes it all the more harder! So frustrating and disappointing

We are truly sorry to read that your prescription was sent elsewhere, and we do apologise for any inconvenience this has caused you. Please be kind enough to email us urgently at admin.millhillsurgery@nhs.net with this review so we can locate your medical record and find out what exactly happened to your prescription. Once you contact us, we will listen to the recorded conversation for our training purposes, and then we can see where our error lies and how we can prevent it from happening again. Please also note that in general, unless a patient is newly registered or temporarily had changed their pharmacy information but forgot to revert it back, it is very difficult for a receptionist here to send medication to the wrong pharmacy as they do not select the pharmacy when issuing prescriptions, they use the information for pharmacy listed in the medical record. Had called 111 who Sunday who prescribed antibiotics. However I got worse and called Mill Hill surgery on Thursday and they triaged me on the phone and asked for me to come in that morning for an examination, prescribing stronger meds. Very grateful for the service, especially that I also had a phone call booked with another doctor for the same day, which went ahead as planned. Feel very grateful to Mill Hill, they are also so helpful and professional.

I need my repeat prescription medication once a month. For the last few months i had a problem. I order my medications at least 5 days in advance as requested. This month it took 7 days and when I callled today and explained to the receptionist that I have run out of my medications (especially pain killlers) she told me that she will try to ask the doctor to write the prescription but she could not guarantee that it will happen. Every month there is a different problem: when ordered two items, only one was prescribed, or out of two items one is full month supply, the other half a month supply etc etc. I am thinking of leaving your practice because of it, my pharmacist who witnessed many of the wrong prescriptions suggested that I make an official complaint. I would be sorry or leave your practice because I never had a problem with doctors or nurses, they are pleasant and helpful, but I can’t say the same about receptionists. Dear Mrs Murray, Thank you for taking the time and effort to leave a review about our practice. It is highly appreciated when patients like you point our errors in our processes or services we offer to patients. Regarding the prescription errors, we are aware that there are currently delays in processing medication requests, and we have been trying in the last few months to train enough members of staff while we try to streamline the prescribing process and avoid time delays. We are also trying to shorten the time between receiving a hospital document with medication updates, and issuing these medication. Regarding the receptionist's response, the matter was brought up in our reception meetings and after discussing it we have agreed to change the response wording our receptionists use so to be more reassuring and accountable. We would like for you to remain our patient while we quickly try to sort our prescription problems so the ordering and collection process is as easy as possible both for patients and our members of staff alike. Lastly, you also had a discussion with one of our GPs regarding this matter, but we would also like to offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience we have caused you in delaying the issuance of your medication. I’ve been a patient of the surgery for over 35 years I realise everyone in the Practice works under great pressure, but the doctors, nurses and receptionists are always very helpful, professional and kind. My mother in her 90s has needed regular treatment from the nurses and they have been amazing as normal. The GPs are have always listened and I have never felt that I was a number but always a patient. Just wanted to say many thanks to them

Have been with practice since it opened and the support and kindness shown by GPS, nurses and reception is fantastic. There guidelines to follow for appointments etc but these are needed when dealing with so many. I never feel they are rushing and really take time to help and explain. Having the option of phone or f2f appointments is useful as is the econsult service is always replied to within the set timeframe. Highly recommend .
