Review titled Terrible processes
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Thompson - Posted on 16 September 2024
Moved to the area 5 weeks ago, handed in registration forms the same week we moved for both myself and my 12 month old son. Wouldn't accept him without me being seen first. It's now been 5 weeks and he is still not registered despite being due his 12 month jabs and having a chest infection and suspicious rash. Been told I have to ring 111 if I want him to be seen by a doctor. The fact that he was registered within 24 hrs at his last doctors in York says everything about the archaic, illogical and downright nonsensical system this surgery has. Currently in the process of trying to find another surgery.

Review titled Told no longer accepted as a patient!!!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 May 2024
After an incident ladt year I was extremely disappointed with the attitude and service received from a member if staff. Receiving an appointment this week for an annual review I saw the appointment was with the same person. I refused the appointment and asked to see someone else. Yesterday was bluntly told that the practice would no longer accept me as a patient!!!!!!! They ask you show respect to the staff, I suggest that should work both ways and staff show respect to patients. Total lack of care. Shame on you The New Surgery.

Review titled New Prescriptions
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 May 2024
I went to the chemist on Tuesday 7/5/2024 to collect my tablets and there was a set of tablets missing. I had a word with the chemist and they said it was cancelled by the surgery. I went to the surgery and questioned this and they said it was cancelled because i have already ordered them. If i had already ordered them, how come i ran out of my tablets on the Sunday and i should have got my new prescription on the Tuesday. The tablets that i'm missing are only for a prostrate problem but they are not bothered about rushing some new ones through. This the third time that they have made a mess of my tablets and i've not been able to get them. I think they need to employ someone that knows how to count days on the calendar and work out when the tablets are due

Review titled Frustrating experience
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Mrs Frustrated - Posted on 03 May 2024
The current system of the practice calling a patient back does not work any better than the previous sytem of sitting continually calling or waiting to get through to Reception to book an appointment with a GP. I rang the Practice on the 1st May 2024 at 8.32am to receive a message that I would receive a call back to save trying to continually call and get through. At 10.30am I still had not received a call back so rang again on another phone to get through to Reception who said they were extremely busy and I would not be able to see a doctor and would receive a telephone consultation call, which did not happen until 2.30pm. This new system is worse than the previous system and equally as frustrating. When people are ill this experience is not good and creates anxiety and exasperation which is not conducive to people when they are ill. I have no complaints with staff or GPs who are always pleasant and helpful when you do manage to speak to them or get an appointment but the old system of being able to phone up and make an appointment worked perfectly well but these new systems are creating upset and ftrustration when people are ill. It's time something was done to enable people to be able to access an appointment when they are ill as it is not always possible to sit continually on the phone when you are ill.

Review titled Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5

Been waiting since May for them to complete my medical licence application sent to the from the Dvla. My license expired in June. DVLA have sent them 2 reminders and I have called numerous times, most recently they then sent me a text after the phone call saying it would be another 8 weeks! Rang back again as DVLA wrote to me yet again asking them to get a move on, asked to speak to the manager who was meant to call me back. Guess what? I'm still waiting!

Review titled Horrendous Receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 July 2023
There is one particular receptionist who works at this surgery who is very rude, shows no empathy and is very sarcastic and narcissistic over the phone. I had an issue with my phone, so couldn’t ring to get an appointment. Despite going into the practice and telling them this, they told me I had to “find another phone or get yours fixed”. That’s exactly what you want to hear when you’re already feeling under the weather, hence wanting the appointment. The staff here are what give the service in general a bad name. Their attitude towards patients is dreadful, I think they are forgetting that we are paying more and more in tax to help fund the NHS, yet receiving less of a service. This practice needs a reshuffle. Yes it needs a refurb, but if you had nicer reception staff who made the whole experience more streamlined and more pleasant, you wouldn’t be receiving 1 star reviews. Then they wonder why so many people flood A&E departments… I’ll leave it there.

Review titled No chance to getting an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 May 2023
As per receptionist request I called at exactly 9:30 this morning in order to book an appointment. There is no automatic line for when you call, if they’re on the phone already you have to try again. There should be line system on the phones so it serves first come first served basis as apposed to chancing if you will be ringing at the exact right time. I called 130 times this morning for 40 minutes and still haven’t gotten through. If I could I would move practice as this is a joke. How can the NHS ask you to take a load of A&E by seeing your GP, when you can’t even speak the the receptionist.

Review titled Terrible Receptionists
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 May 2023
The receptionists continue to be the problem at this surgery. 8:30am you must ring to get an appointment, but you can't get through to anyone. Big queue, and for those of us who work, it's impossible to sit in a queue for an hour and a half. It took me 63 attempts to get through, for there to be no appointments. The online function, never has any appointments on it. The receptionists are cold, rude and unhelpful. Once you get to see a doctor (usually a nurse), they are helpful, but the standard of the facilities is exceptionally poor. They need some investment because the treatment rooms are old, tired, dark and cold. They also messed up my records and didn't record by cervical screen examination before covid, so I was sent a series of reminders. Went for the appointment and she said it was a mix up. Completely useless
