Review titled Lovely and Kind - Cervical Screening

I have had one cervical screening prior to this one today (**not at this surgery), last time I bled and I almost had to stop the procedure because it hurt too much. Today at the New Surgery I was welcomed with a smile and reassurance. The nurse asked me how the first cervical screening went and sympathised with me which made me feel safe and that this time would be better. I can tell you it was 100x better! She tried one speculum which hurt a little too much, then went to get the smallest one and communicated with me that this was the best she had so we may have to be brave. To most this may sound not a lot, but to me, it meant a lot to know what she was going to do next rather than carry on in silence. What I liked about this appointment was the nurse listened to my concerns, and acted accordingly and adjusted her appointment to help me with my fear of this examination. She helped me with my breathing and talked to me like we were chatting on the street which helped for me personally because I'm lying there with my knickers off! It was over before I knew it, it was markedly markedly better than the first time. The nurse reiterated how important these screens are so I urge those with cervixes to go and get checked (at least every 3 years), if you get seen at The New Surgery I hope it's as lovely and kind as what I experienced <3 Thank you!!

Not worthy of 1 star. Letters from hospital not read especially when it comes too medicine changes and too be actioned. You can ring up and the reception staff think they are medical experts. The practice manager well whay a joke, he is the most rude and arogant human being I have ever come across.

The staff here are so friendly, and really strive to make the process as streamlined as possible. The reception staff are very welcoming and the doctors are fantastic. Would recommend!

I have been with The New Surgery for many years. The doctors at the surgery are absolutely outstanding. They are a true credit to the NHS.

From Reception to GP, great friendly, professional staff. I had to change GP after many years and was scared, needn't be. Everyone from Reception to GP are lovely! Have recommended to friends
