    Dear Patient, I am sorry to hear about your disappointment with the surgery. We follow the NHS guidelines for Zero Tolerance and in some circumstances it is necessary to request that a patient be removed from the surgery list due to a breakdown in relationships or aggressive behaviour, in order to protect our staff and other patients. This is quite rare and only when warranted. If you wish to make a complaint, you can contact Healthwatch West Sussex Tel: 0300 012 0122 or the Health Service Ombudsman Tel: 0345 015 4033.     Dr A and the reception team were so helpful, even called me back in the same day for tests. I cannot thank the surgery enough, Dr A is lovely and so reassuring. The reception was so helpful and kept me well informed.

    Pushing 50 years old and asthmatic, not had a face to face appointment with a doctor/nurse in 5 1/2 years. My interaction with the receptionist led me to suspect it isn’t likely to happen for perhaps another 5 or so years. Receptionist (who isn’t a doctor) attempted to quiz me on my symptoms in front of a queue of people, with no awareness any personal privacy issues. Gave up in the end.

    Dear Patient Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We deeply regret that your recent experience with our practice did not meet your expectations, particularly given your health concerns and the sensitive nature of your symptoms. Firstly, I want to apologise for the long period without a face-to-face appointment and for any distress this may have caused you. Your health and well-being are our top priorities, and it is clear that we need to do better in addressing your needs. We do have face-to-face appointments available to book with our asthma nurse or a GP and I would urge you to contact us again so that we can get you booked in. I am also sorry to hear about the interaction with our receptionist. We strive to ensure that all patients are treated with respect and that their privacy is protected and we obviously failed on this occassion. Unfortunately some questions are necessay in order to signpost you to the correct care giver and I am sorry that the front desk lacks privacy.     During my visit to Orchard Surgery in March 2024, I was once again impressed by the exceptional service provided by the reception staff. Their kindness, courtesy, and genuine care were evident from the moment I walked in. Despite the busy schedule, they took the time to address my concerns with utmost professionalism. Their willingness to go above and beyond to assist me reaffirmed my trust in their dedication. As they called me by name, I felt a sense of familiarity and warmth that truly made me feel valued as a patient. However, it was disheartening to witness some patients being rude to the reception staff during my visit. Such behaviour is uncalled for and detracts from the outstanding service they provide. It's crucial to acknowledge and appreciate their hard work, treating them with the respect and kindness they deserve.
