  1. Review titled Incompetent service relating a sick note

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2025

My husband had requested a sick note for his absence has he had been very poorly. Called 111 and their consultant responded within a few minutes after the call had ended. He was told he had a severe chest infection and was given antibiotics and told to continue with other medication he was taking. I requested via the online sick note request form, a sick note covering his absence dates from work only to then receive a text saying the sick note was rejected as I had requested it through the "admin enquiry"and to re-try through the "medical request" instead. I phoned the surgery as it was all very baffling and had filled in the correct form too. I was told not by one but by two receptionists that the reason it had been rejected was because the G.P on duty had said that it would not be possible for my husband's sick note to be released as he needed to be reviewed by the surgery's G.P. I explained to both receptionists that my husband's employer had requested to see a sick note ASAP otherwise he would not get paid. Obviously, not knowing when he would get seen by a G.P as it usually takes weeks if not months from our personal experience, this was going to create problems for my husband. The receptionists again referred back to the G.P on duty but G.P categorically insisted that my husband would need to be reviewed for the sick note to be released and that they could not help me any further. I was told to ring the next day at 8am and fill a "medical request" for the review. My husband completed the "medical request" as instructed gave all details including his work and mobile number. Much to my dismay, I, the wife, receive my husband's sick note on my mobile even though he had given his numbers? I contacted my husband to inform him and asked if had had a review with G.P to which he replied no. I call the surgery for an explanation after having explained the entire situation, and the receptionist who was very helpful, was baffled herself. She told me she would ask if my husband would be reviewed or not as we did not know and were confused. She rang back to tell me that the G.P who was on duty on the next day said that she was happy with what she had read on the letter following the 111 call and that my husband did not need a review?! The G.P on duty when I first made contact (15th Jan) knew about the 111 notes and that my husband had already spoken to a doctor but still insisted without budging, that he had to be reviewed if he wanted a sick note? I basically wasted my time filling in an online "sick note form" and a "medical request" as well as spending nearly an hour on the phone, told one thing to then have the sick note released to my phone and not my husband's and also be told he did not need a review!! Appalling and totally inept. I did ask for the name of the G.P on duty who refused to release the sick note and not only was I given the name I was also inform that this particular G.P had been at the surgery a long time! Says it all really!!

Hello so, today which is the 12th of November I had this excruciating pain on my neck which is a muscle pull and I’m so great full to have gone to the gp where I had a really good doctor and now I feel so much better. Thank you so much 🙏. However it is disappointing that although I spent a whole day at Barnet hospital the doctor couldn’t say anything about it.

  3. Review titled Poor gp response

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Poor gp no examination - Posted on 23 October 2024

Had double apointment booked last week which didn't materialise so was rebooted for today however gp didn't even examination just typed away on her pc told to take over counter pain medication and wear supportive underwear. You can imagine someone who has been in pain for many months and no diagnosis I felt and left very despondent. As a cancer patient in past was not taken on board. Just don't know now how to proceed

  4. Review titled Doctor makes a difference

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kingsley Ofori - Posted on 22 May 2024

Had a call from the Dr.today at exactly 12pm on the 22nd of may 2024 about my knee problem and was surprised at how much she went the extra mile to help me feel comfortable. She even called back a again in some few minutes after our first conversation. What a difference and reassurance it made to my telephones consultation today. Big ups to her.

She was welcoming, caring and patient during care. Privacy was provided and consent sought from me before conducting examination.

A very lovely woman at our GP service was exceptional. Her kindness and professionalism shone through as she efficiently assisted us with a challenging issue concerning a special needs child. Her compassionate approach and clear guidance made a stressful situation manageable. We are incredibly grateful for her outstanding support. Highly recommend her and the service to anyone in need.

  7. Review titled Worse service

Rated 1 star out of 5

As a person who struggle with anxiety. This practice is not place anyone should go for help. I have a problem which needs an ultra sound which was recommended by the GP I saw last week. Everyday I have to chase them up to find out if it was sent. Received a text message saying my referral was sent to a particular establishment. When I contacted that particular place, they say they don't have anything about me. Ok! I proceeded to contact the practice receptionist. I was quickly rushed of the phone and told that was a mistake. Mind you, I have been on pain all this time as I told them the pain killers aren't working. How could admin staff make a mistake in sending a referral for an ultra sound ??? I decided to go in and ask if I can get a referral to a walk in clinic so that I can get help quicker. I was told to go home and call back the surgery (am standing in front of these reception staff) they will see what they can do. I also work on the nhs. I am sure I cannot treat a patient the way I was treated

  8. Review titled Absolute Appalling Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 July 2023

Avoid this GP Practice. It’s the worst GP Practice I have ever had the misfortune to be exposed to. Avoid this GP Practice completely. Receptionist are all rude. Practice manager even ruder. The entire staff is just simply disgusting. Medical care forget it. It would take me the rest of the year to write how incompetent, rude, unhelpful, unapproachable, fiesty and loud indiscreet, aggressive the entire staff are. As an NHS worker myself, I am totally disgusted by the way patients are treated at this GP Practice. My entire family have been traumatised by treatment by staff, at this GP Practice.

  9. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 July 2023

Terrible practice, tried for over a month for an appointment which you can never get! Told to do and e consult which they never got back to me and I was provided with a reference, receptionist have no compassion and very argumentative and always try and talk over you. And when you finally get an appt which is suppose to be with a doctor and they book you with a nurse. Had an appt for 8:15 checked in no one informed me the nurse was running late until I went to reception 30 mins later to be told she's stuck in traffic and they don't know how long she will be thats not good practice if you are booking patients in for 8:15 make sure your there!!! always the same problem with morning appts! Practice has gone down hill i can't believe there still open with all these bad reviews

  10. Review titled Blood test reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Violet Murray - Posted on 27 May 2023

I had to go for a blood test without eating or drinking, so I asked for earliest appointment, my appointment was 8:15 am. I arrived at 8:10 waited at reception, ignored so I called out my name and said I’m here for a blood test and went and waited in reception, At 8:30 am my name still hadn’t come up on the telly so I went back to reception as I heard somebody else booking in for bloods and thought I would lose my place, totally frustrating visit so unnecessary to cause me stress like that when I already had to have three separate appointments because they didn’t listen to me on the phone When I was trying to tell them what bloods I needed to have. Lord forbid a patient knowing what they actually need. Stressful and frustrating

Dear Ms Murray, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you are not happy with the service you have received. We will use your comments as a learning point to help improve the service we offer our patients. Reviewing your records, I can see that you had an appointment at 8:15 am, you were arrived by our receptionist at 8:19 and marked as a leaver by our Nurse at 8:31. The surgery has recently reinstalled our patient check in screen to use, as we understand that the reception desk can get busy during peak times. I am happy for you to contact me directly to discuss further. Yours sincerely Mario Paschalides Practice Manager
