    We've been at this surgery for decades. They don't need me to tell them the place doesn't look great, in fact little changed since we joined in 1980. But brickwork doesn't diagnose things, clinicians do. Just had an excellent session with the senior doctor at the practice, reviewing my various conditions and medication. Used to do this annually before Covid, this is the first time since. There was no specific problem, I just wanted him to look at where I was, my latest blood tests, my medication. He went through everything in great detail, was very reassuring, changed some medication and, for me, benchmarked a day on which I could say, at that point, everything was as much as it should be for someone in their 8th decade. Of course GP's are run off their feet and often don't have time for this sort of thing, but it is very valuable -- much better nudging people towards remaining well, rather than repairing them when they aren't.     I have been registered at this practice for approximately thirty-five years and have always received excellent medical care. I phoned for an emergency appointment last week and was offered an "in person" appointment, within a few hours of my call. The doctor was absolutely brilliant and he swiftly dealt with my concern, giving me a full explanation of my condition and totally included me in my treatment plan. The surgery continues to go from strength to strength, with exceedingly knowledgeable, highly skilled, dedicated and caring doctors, a fantastic, very personable and approachable Practice Manager, who has implemented some well thought out and positive improvements at the surgery and an amazingly good support team. The Practice at 188 is brilliant !

    Very distressed by appointment confusion from the Royal Free Hospital, the surgery intervened promptly and resolved the problem for me. From the receptionist who listened so patiently to my dilemma to the Practice Manager who was instrumental in sorting the problem, I have nothing but praise and gratitude.

    I had an excellent phone consultation with a very knowledgable and thorough doctor, within an hour of initially contacting the surgery, as I was very ill. The doctor’s diagnosis and treatment were totally accurate. The whole process was seamless and I was invited to have a follow up consultation the following week, which reassured me that I was on the road to recovery. It was a very good experience.

    Excellent care and advice from one of the Practice GPs over the last couple of weeks (I'm prohibited from mentioning a doctor's name on here, but you know who you are..!) , delivered with real patient empathy not to mention efficiency. Even called me at home to update me on the progress of something we discussed. What a pleasure to be able to post a positive GP review..!

    I have been with this practice since 1998. Mainly I see the same GP for years, but my limited experience with the other doctors is excellent as well. My GP is absolutely brilliant. Firstly, he always listens to you very carefully. Then he asks for your opinion, regarding your problem. After examining you, he will tell you his professional opinion. He does it always very clearly (in plain English but still in a very professional manner). He is always friendly and shows respect to you. He is very patient with you, and answers all your questions. After every meeting with him, I leave the clinic feeling happy, that I have “received value for my money”. My GP never prescribe medicine when he thinks are unnecessary, or sent to do tests when he thinks it is unnecessary. And you always get full explanations for everything. He shows vast knowledge in medicine. From my past experience he was never wrong regarding my issues. In my last appointment with him (03/2024), he spent much more time with me than the formal time allocated to the appointment. In a way it was my fault as well because I came with a small list of issues. But during the whole appointment I was not given the impression that I am taking to much of his time. He should be benchmark to many GP’s. I should as well praise the reception team. Whenever I deal with them, they always try to help you and solve your problem in a professional manner.

    I was chasing a repeat prescription, which seemed to have gone astray between the pharmacy and the Practice. Ryan answered my call without any wait and very patiently took me through the NHS App and how to order my repeat prescriptions directly on the App. This means the request goes straight to the Doctor for authorising and then to the pharmacy. This was a most helpful bit of timesaving advice. Thank you Ryan.

    Registered temporarily for 3 months following cardiac surgery. I was removed from the list without notice after requesting a repeat prescription. I was offered a permanent registration, I have to assume the surgery would then be entitled to more tax-payer money. Under NICE I should have been offered Cardiac Rehabilitation but the Practice 188 neglected to do so probably it was too much effort for them.

    Dear Rajneesh Prasad, Thank you for your feedback. My name is Ryan. As Practice Manager, I take on the role of Complaints Manager for the organisation which means I hold delegated responsibility for managing complaints and ensuring adequate investigations are carried out. I am sorry to hear about your experience. It is important that we hear from patients when things go wrong as this can help us learn and make improvements. We note that you were registered as a temporary patient with the Practice. This allows us to provide immediately necessary treatment whilst you are away from your usual GP Practice. We prescribed all of your usual medication, as requested, on 8 January 2024. Once your temporary registration had elapsed, you were advised that this cannot be renewed. To do so would be in defiance of the GMS regulations which are standardised across England. At this point, you were provided with three options for receiving medical treatment; ask your usual GP Practice to send an electronic prescription to any pharmacy in England, contact NHS 111 for urgent medical assistance, or register with us as a permanent patient. I understand that this process can be frustrating but the rationale behind NHS England's regulations which provide a time-limit on temporary registration is to ensure that any treatments provided are on a temporary basis. To continue prescribing without access to your full medical history would have been unsafe and in breach of our contract with NHS England. I am sorry that, on this occasion, we were unable to fulfil your request. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further with you.
