Review titled Unresolved Problem
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Juliet - Posted on 17 August 2023
Had a hospital procedure in Jan 23 which had post op pain followed by an infection. The Roxton practice offered the same treatment 3 times without a cure or improvement, that's after after 8 mths of painful suffering. Then recently offered exactly the same treatment again for a forth time! Had enough now. Expecting a different outcome from the same treatment after a forth time is pointless.

the way the practice arranges appointments now is ridicules, I have been with these since I was little and never have I ever had so much issue trying to book appointments since after covid. no one wants to see you anymore its lost its personnel touch, they are missing so much with out seeing patients. working full time and trying to access ask myGP when at work and not being able to book in advance for appointments causes issues with work, we have to give notice of appointments yet they ask you to come in on the same day if they need to see you which you just cant do if you work. it was so much easier when you would ring speak to an actual human being first who could put you at ease and then book you an appointment around your work. then you can speak to your employer to get the time off. the window of using ask myGP is small and if you miss it then no one is helpful. if when they call back they cant even give you a time to make sure you are available or have signal, they just ring when ever and then you cant ring them back. you get more stressed just trying to book appointments these days its just lost all its human touch and care.

Review titled Supportive and helpful GP
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been working with one of the GP's for several years to try to secure funding for life changing surgery and been declined several times. But the GP i worked with continued to put my case forward and was very supportive in my applications and i felt she really listened to my needs. Thanks to her i have finally been approved for the funding for this surgery and i am so very grateful and happy about this.

Review titled Access to GP
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have struggled to access a GP/health professional appointment. The ask my GP system was “closed” at 8am which I appreciate is probably due to demand/capacity. However why can’t a request be logged to be picked up at the next available time? If a person could indicate a level of urgency you could prioritise and give an approximate response timescale.

Review titled Awful practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Russell Antoniades - Posted on 25 April 2023
I switched GP's due to a relocation; whilst the service at that practice wasn't ideal, it was light years better than this one. I tried to obtain an appointment to discuss an ongoing - and painful - issue. After waiting around 15 mins just to have the call answered, was eventually told that appointments can only be booked online between 07:00-09:00 and that I should try again tomorrow as all appointments are "same day". After explaining this was essentially a lottery and not acceptable, I was grudgingly offered a call back between 18:00-20:00 in ten days time. I also raised the issue of my repeat prescription as all records appear to have been removed from the NHS app I was using. I was told this would be sorted out immediately and the prescription would be raised that day. I called the following day, and of course there's no prescription. I'm currently on hold - waiting 10 mins and counting - for someone to answer the phone so I can find out what happened to my meds. It's an appalling practice, as soon as I've got my meds sorted out for the month I will be changing to a new one.

Review titled Fantastic service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Joanne Deighton - Posted on 19 April 2023
I contacted the surgery today 18/4/23 as ask my GP had closed for the day, and I woke up with an acute problem, I thought I was suffering from Shingles and have an operation the following day in hospital and needed to be sure if it was shingles or a problem I have medically that flares up. On the first encounter I spoke to the care navigator who was extremely kind and efficient, She advised me although ask my GP had closed she would place me on the acute list for a doctor to call me back. recognised that I had underlying health problems and this was quite important to rule out shingles. Later on that day the GP got in touch and asked me if I would either like a telephone call, a video consultation or a face-to-face appointment, I opted for the video consultation as I didn’t feel it warranted taking the time out of the extremely busy doctors day for a face-to-face consultation, When it could be dealt with a video. GP was fantastic, eased my worries that it was not shingles and it was an underlying health condition that I have, and my operation would be safe for tomorrow. In the times when the NHS is so stretched I could not fault the practice, especially the staff that come under enormous pressure, they seem to get complaints when not justified, from the first phone call to the outcome at the end of the day I left feeling extremely happy and cared for. Well done the Roxton practice I’m so grateful to be a patient there.
