Review titled Exceptional service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lisa Jolea Cane - Posted on 06 February 2023
I contacted the practice, the receptionist was knowledgeable and extremely helpful . She assessed the circumstances and arranged a gp appointment. The gp telephone consultation escalated to a face to face gp appointment later the same day. Thank you appropriate decision. The face to face gp was extremely pleasant, very knowledgeable, demonstated outstanding medical care treatment, resulting in a pathway to AE. The gp had to debate the health care pathway plan with an AE doctor who was disagreeing with the gp's assessment plan. The gp was very assertive and confident in her manner to ensure further assessment treatment was agreed. Be proud your amazing. A big shout out to the gp Date 06/02/2023. Time 3pm. The receptionist on the way out arranged a further sample test. We were rushing up to AE and feeling stressed. The receptionist went over and above to ensure we were provided with the accurate sample kit. A big thank you for ensuring we left with the sample kit. Amazing experience by all health care professionals within the practice. A full explanation was provided by the gp and written documentation prepared to take with us. Thank you appreciated.

Review titled Unacceptable system
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 January 2023
After being off sick with the flu for over 7 days I attempted to contact the surgery for a fit note. I rang at 8am, on hold for 30 minutes, finally got through to somebody to then be cut off. I rang again, to be in hold for a further 30 minutes to then be told there were no appointments left and to ring back Monday morning. I explained I was back to work Monday and couldn’t ring or call in. The receptionist wasn’t very helpful with her suggestions or alternatives and there was nothing more she could do. I will now have to take 2 days unpaid because I can’t get a fit note from the doctors covering the sickness period. Completely unacceptable.

Review titled Awful practice, not sure it actually has any GP's
Rated 1 star out of 5

It is impossible to get a face to face appointment at this GP surgery. You have to start to ring at 8am listen to a 1 min recorded message before you can select options then to be told lines and busy call back! If you are one of the lucky ones who gets through on the phone after 60 attempts and holding for 30 minutes in a queue you end up with a GP phone call if you persist on getting one from a GP as you are always given the pharmacist first! They then almost let you self diagnose yourself perscribes you anitbiotics without physically checking you over. This has also been my experience for a child. No wonder so many health concerns and diagnosis of conditions come so late, as GP's assessments are non existent. I have had a few nurse appiontments these are bookable in advance and when I have gone into the surgery for them, there isn't a patient in sight so is there actually any GP's working here actually onsite?? If you cant get an appiontment you can use the out of hours service, which when you ring also says agents are busy try again! So you can try 111, waited for an hour on the phone then gave up. No wonder People then show up at A&E which puts mounted pressure on hospitals and impacts those who really need to be there.

Review titled Appointment system terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 November 2022
The appointment system at the Practice is terrible - it is almost impossible to get to see a GP face to face. It is very difficult to get through on the telephone and when you finally do get through there are no appointments available. You just get directed to the out of hours service. It is not surprising that people are ending up going to A&E departments when they cannot get to see their own Doctor. You also cannot make an appointment online which other surgeries are offering. For such a large Practice with modern facilities it does not have an appointment system which is fit for purpose and meets the patient's needs.
