The appointment booking process is extremely frustrating and far-removed from patient-centered care. I've been trying (without success) to schedule a GP appointment for my father who has been told whilst in the hospital that he has cancer. I've tried calling on different days to get through to someone to discuss his needs and request a GP appointment. I've set up an NHS account for him which he is unable to do himself. I've also set up an account with their appointments provider and still can't book a GP appointment. Their phoning says they have a 24 hour automated booking process but if you are requesting a medical appointment this process is initiated online via a triage page. I've requested and followed the link to follow this process but nowhere on the page has the medical triage initiation page. I've then tried calling again to be put through the process of a virtual assistant trying to book an appointment for a man who is dying of cancer. This is a frustratingthing, dehumanising experience and there must be better ways to improve efficiency without this fiasco. I've spent over 2 hours on this and we still haven't got an appointment. Beyond useless.

I filled form in on new system 7.30am12/08/24 I got a txt back at 12 then I got a call from a doctor at 12.13 discussed my symptoms with him and going to see GP Friday. Excellent service.

Thank you for your comment. We introduced the new appointment system in June to help provide better access so it is nice to hear that this is the experience that patients are having

I am in Doncaster Royal infirmary. I was told my carers. To ring the doctors, to ask for some medicines. I wrand Scott practice. 45minutes later. I female answered the phone. At the reception. I gave her my name & date of birth. She then put the phone down on me. That's 3rd time this week. Why why do we have a phone, when Scott practice, receptionist can't Be bothered to talk. To you. They would rather look at a there boss (the computer). Than talk to there patients

I joined you surgery over two weeks ago after I'd say a not so good service with my last Gp practice. Signing on process was instant. Very impressive. Appointment for diabetes booked and seamless. I had a lovely call from a nurse yesterday who discussed my results. She was perfect and very helpful and encouraging. What I am impressed with is that she cared about the new medication that she was prescribing and the side potential side effects. A plan for a follow up has been put in place. I'm not used to this kind of service but one that I feel patients should have out of a doctors surgery. Please can you thank this lovely lady for an amazing 👏 job.

my 3 year old daughter came in on Friday for her pre school vaccinations, she was greeted by the reception staff who spoke to her as well as my self, and that made her smile, she then took a seat with me and enjoyed looking at the fish, telling me all sorts about the fish, shortly after she was seen by one of the nurses and a student who again spoke to her as well as myself and made her smile, they talked me through what they would be doing the gave her her vaccination that she didn't like, however did enjoy the sticker and certificate after, and said bye to the nurse. i found the staff to be polite and pleasant.

Dr told me to contact him if my condition didn't improve. When I asked reception to let him no my condition hadn't improved they refused and would only offer me an appointment in ten days time. I explained the doctor told me to contact him straight away. I had to call 111 and explain the situation. The person there tried to book me an appointment for that day but the practise refused to accept it. She has sent a report to the practise asking a doctor to contact me but I have no confidence a doctor will ever receive it. I had a similar problem previously. The doctors are good but reception are obstructive.
