    I was a patent at this place until the end of last month. It was almost impossible to see or even talk to a doctor. I have fairly advanced COPD and developed a severe chest infection in january. Which has only just been sorted out by my new doctor. At Symons I received very little help and certainly not care. during this infection I only ever saw a doctor once. I could never get the quantity of medicine I needed, because of the difficulty of getting through to a doctor. when I finally did see one her told me that I should have been taking antibiotics every other day from october to april, but he only told me this in may. He said that I should have known this myself and contacted the surgery to ask for it. How could I possibly know? Fortunately I have moved to a new practice where I have seen adoctor or clinician multiple times whenever I need one, I have been treated with a kindness and caring attitude I never received at symons.

    It can't be right that it's not possible to book a face to face appointment with any Doctor at any point in the future. Told to call back another week.

    I’ve been with this surgery for several years now and due to being out of the catchment for better surgeries I have been stuck here. I have never got an appointment the first time I call, lucky if I’m not more than 30 in the queue even when calling at 8.29 on the dot. When I do finally speak to someone I’m always told there are no appointments (emergency or future) and I’ll have to try again the next day. It took me 3 weeks of calling every day before I finally went into the surgery and they miraculously found me an appointment, after reminding me that I can only make appointments over the phone of course. I finally saw the GP (first time I’ve physically seen one in years, rarer than a unicorn), he sent me for bloods and then put me on tablets for something unrelated to my issue and asked me to come back in 3 months if the issue still exists. Well it does still exist and now I’m in week 2 of calling daily to try get an appointment. If it’s this bad for me I can only imagine the struggle for those who are really poorly. It’s the worst surgery I’ve been in, with completely uncaring staff.

    A telephone call as concerned about various problems. My GP didn’t rush me despite me having several queries. Very helpful and organised an update for the hospital. I have always had a good experience with all staff at this surgery. They have often gone the extra mile to help. Thank you
