I have to say i very rarely contact my doctors surgery only when i absolutely have to, as i know how busy and under strain the nhs is. I have tried to resolve the problem myself for a month to no avail and was worried about sepsis, so this was one of the times that i really needed to see a doctor and get some help. But both times i called the practice i got the same awful service from the reception staff. The first time i called and was asked 'what the problem was' i was told that 'we don't do that here' (Strange - because the nhs website states that you do and also can refer me). I asked them to please help me but was told with little to no care or understanding that they couldn't help and that was the end of the call. I carried on trying to resolve the problem myself for a few days more then called the practice again. This time it was a different member of the reception staff that i spoke to, however the service was just as poor as the first time. This time i called at 8:51 am and wasn't even asked what the problem was. I was just told in a sarcastic tone of voice that 'the lines have been open for an hour and all the appointments have been taken'. When i asked if i could book an appointment for another day i was told no, i will have to call back another day and that was the end of the call. I have no problem with any of the doctors who work at the practice that i have seen in the past (when you can get to see one that is). But the reception staff don't seem to care at all, which makes me wonder why bother doing this job? I am now left with having to pay for the treatment or go to a+e. The last time i went to a+e because I couldn't get an appointment here the nurse was shocked and appalled that i had been fobbed off.

Having the need to see a doctor I made a phone call for an appointment while the queue was I was offered a call back. This I took and was contacted and given an appointment for late morning. When I saw the doctor he was understanding and even read and commented on a hospital report this was reassuring. He also said he would ring me to see how I was progressing. This is a very good service I only have a positive attitude to this GP practice.

Virtually impossible to get a scheduled appointment as a follow up from my previous doctors surgery and to discuss blood level results (I'm new to the area). I've called in twice and still couldn't make a scheduled appointment with a GP. They only seem to take urgent appointments when ringing in at 8am (for which there is a considerable waiting time).

My son ,who has always been registered with this practise and is a known very well with doctors to have severe renal issues , needed an appointment with a doctor just to request a referral letter. I explained to the receptionist on Tuesday that I wanted a second opinion from a private renal doctor as my son had been diagnosed as complete renal failure . I was advised to ring surgery for a telephone consultation . I rang on Tuesday at 8 when I finally got through to the receptionist I was told there were no appointments left . I explained and requested for any help for a simple referral letter . But it was a very straight and upright reply with the lady on the other end saying ‘ I appreciate your worry but I can’t do anything about it ‘ I turned up the surgery next day at 8 to make the same request I was again advised to try to book on the phone and there was a good chance I would get through to the doctor . I did the same called at 8 , got through at 8.30 was told no appointments . At this point I felt so helpless and frustrated that I literally cried and begged for an appointment to get a referral letter .eventually I was booked in for a morning appointment. This is a sad and disappointing situation . Now I have decided to move to a surgery where I know someone who works there as we feel neglected and uncared here .

Rang at 8 number 21 in the queue. No appts. Next day same and so on. They genuinely dont care one bit but direct you to 111 or a&e. Disgraceful patient care.

Phoned on Monday, no appointments Phoned Tuesday bang on 8 o clock, number 2 in the queue, was cut off when they answered, phoned back, no appointments was told "ring back tomorrow!

Absolutely disappointed of the services! Been with them for a while. Difficult to get appointments even if you start ringing at 8.00. For almost a week! Online appointment do not work as well. Keeps directing you to ring them which is not even accessible before 10! Difficult pregnancy and needed anti emetic for weeks however, could not get the appointment. I am a doctor myself! Please go somewhere else.

Thank you for the message. I am sorry to read that you felt that your query was not dealt with effectively. We have a number of appointments available and urgent on the day appointments are available from 7.45AM which can be booked via the NHS App. As well as the appointments with GPs and pharmacists we have access to enhanced access from 4pm to 8pm Monday to Friday, and also on weekends 9am to 5pm. There is more information here: https://www.theuplandsmp.nhs.uk/health-information/appointments/ I am not aware of any technical issues with online appointments. I am extremely concerned about your message as you will know that in pregnancy and vomiting there is a risk of dehydration and if the vomiting persists then we would be looking to arrange a same day assessment at the local hospital in some cases, depending on if there are signs of dehydration. Massive improvements over last few months. Phone answered quickly. Staff polite. Dr was efficient and on time Can’t ask for more !!

Rang this practice to make a future appointment on a Monday. Finally got through after about half an hour for the woman on the phone to tell me to ring back the next day at 8am to get an appointment. I start work at 7:30am working for the NHS myself so how am I supposed to ring at 8am it was not even for an emergency appointment. So I physically went in to the practice on the Thursday when I arrived at 2pm the woman told me they couldn’t attend to me until 3:30pm. When I returned at 3:30pm I was told that she cannot make future appointments today and to ring back on Monday.

Two weeks ago I requested the local pharmacy to reorder prescriptions for myself and my husband.Despite having chased this 3 times with the pharmacy,who assured me that they had sent this request through three times we have still not received the medication.The pharmacist actually rang the surgery today on our behalf and I fully expected a positive outcome.I was disappointed.We are still waiting .This is not acceptable.
