Review titled Quick procedure and positive experience
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 October 2024
I attended an appointment for minor surgery on Sep 2024. The procedure was to remove a mole on my back. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and welcoming. The procedure was very quick and was explained to me beforehand, the GP put me at ease throughout the process.

Review titled A good experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Friendly and calming staff. The doctor did a fast and efficient job, explained everything well and did a good clean job. The only disappointed person was the nurse who had to remove my stitches, they come out easily due to the continuous stitches the doctor used!

I was scheduled for a blood test. The blood test was done on time, and was done in less than 5 minutes.

Review titled Superb care from nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Penny - Posted on 27 August 2024
Every GP practice should have such a great nurse available not only for first class medical care but to be able to even have a wellness appointment with. I originally went for post surgery scar reconstruction wound care. It was disappointing that I was not healing well but the story/reasons behind the scar make me feel very emotional. This nurse was so kind and so understanding, she took the time to listen and helped me with a more confident way of thinking. Follow up appointments with her for my wound also made such a positive difference to my daily thinking and being. I was very grateful to be able to return to her following more recent surgery where I also needed wound care. I feel so confident in her care and feel seen and heard. I'm not sure how I would have managed mentally if I couldn't have got an appt with the same nurse

Review titled Good time
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was seen early and all was pleasant. It was relaxed and friendly and the needle didn’t hurt at all. I was lucky as I just managed to get the last space in the crowded carpark

Review titled Outstanding Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sabah Mir - Posted on 12 July 2024
I saw The doctor just yesterday 11/7/24 to express my unhappiness with the local hospital and he readily contacted them to find a solution. I have been under the care of a specific Dr at Valkyrie Surgery for the last four years. I have a long-term illness, and throughout every stage of my diagnosis and treatment, I have been treated with care, respect, and compassion. The surgery is always accessible, and the reception staff are consistently pleasant and helpful. While I have had the opportunity to see other doctors, Valkyrie Surgery is diligent and caring in ensuring that I am seen by the same Dr who has been with me throughout my entire illness. It is unfortunate that people rarely leave positive reviews or share their positive experiences. Complaints about the lack of appointments or the waiting times should be directed towards NHS England to address funding issues, as this is not a fault of the surgery. Every time I attend, which is often, I notice that the surgery is always full. There should be better guidance on who should attend the doctor’s surgery and who should not. Many people visit for minor issues that could be addressed by a pharmacist, which unnecessarily uses up doctors' time. We all know the NHS system is seriously broken, and doctor surgeries can only do their best. In my opinion, Valkyrie Surgery is doing exceptionally well. It is one of the few places where you can see a doctor, have an ECG, and get a blood test in one visit. People often fail to appreciate what they have in such a well-rounded and caring surgery. I appreciate that organisations need to be monitored to maintain high standards. However, demoralising practices against exemplary surgeries like Valkyrie Surgery can lead to the loss of exceptional doctors and support staff. Constant scrutiny and lack of appreciation can drive dedicated professionals away from the system, ultimately harming the quality of care that patients receive. It is crucial to balance minor/ resolvable issues with recognition of the hard work and commitment these healthcare providers demonstrate on a daily basis.

I had an appointment at 11 for a minor operation and to my surprise I was called in 10 minutes early. The Dr was very helpful and explained everything really well. The minor op was then done and I was out just before my appointment time was supposed to be!
