  1. Review titled Still waiting for a ring back appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Heather Timmins - Posted on 19 June 2023

I have had the experience of being given a wrong appointment date and 3 weeks later am still waiting for the receptionist to ring back with a new appointment I have never before missed an appointment. Why is the surgery still following covid rules I have been able to access an out of hours surgery with no covid problems whatsoever. Things were happening with accessing the surgery before covid and there is still no improvement I have been reading previous reviews looks like maybe new management is needed where people can actually have face to face appointments I have been in other surgeries and spoken to other people about access to their gps and they have no problems there are some serious issues going on here too many patients and not enough gps how much longer am i going to have to wait for another appointment?

Dear Heather Timmins, Thank you for your recent feedback it is very much appreciated. We offer a variety of appointments, face to face, telephone consultations, video consultations and home visits if required. On reviewing your records it was noted that you was given a face to face appointment on the 9.6.23, which you failed to attend. However following our conversation you have stated that you were given the wrong date and it was also established that you had not consented to SMS text messages therefore the appointment was not received via message, this has now been rectified along with your online access. An appointment has also been given today via your request on the 19.6.23 via our practice website. We are so sorry for your recent experience with the practice and we appreciate all your comments to improve the service of our surgery Kind regards Sharon Cooper

  2. Review titled Don't do what they say they will

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Linda - Posted on 18 April 2023

17/4/23, our daughter rang several times to get appointment for my husband after the out of hours Dr gave him painkillers for hip and leg pain on the previous Saturday. First call shortly after 8, usual no appointments reply. After explaining why he needed appointment she was told the receptionist would contact "a senior" with a view to booking one for Tuesday and call her back. No call received so she rang again to be told this would now be done and she'd be called within 30 mins. Didn't happen, my husband rang this morning, explained again, person rang him back to say a telephone appointment would happen today. Sat by the phone all day, no call received, surgery stated to be closed when rang at 6 30 , website shows 8am to 8pm!

Dear Patient We are so sorry for your recent experience with the surgery but thank you for your recent comments. I am unable to investigate this matter fully because I need the patients full details to find out exactly what happened. I would also like to state that on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are our extended hours until 8pm, however the phones lines go over at 6.30pm. I would be most grateful if you could contact the surgery to discuss this issue to investigate what happened and to put preventative measures in place to ensure this doesn't happen again. Kind regards Sharon Cooper Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Call back!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Nicola - Posted on 06 March 2023

So after getting through at 08:15 I was told they have no appointments left for today. They did however offer me an appointment for 2 days time. Despite me telling them I thought I had a chest infection. Then then proceeded to offer me a pharmacist to call me. I thought this was better than nothing. At 15:50 I called the surgery and was assured that I was still on the list to be called. Well at 20:53 and feeling like my chest is being squashed and coughing up copious amounts of nastiness, I am still waiting. This surgery has gone to the dogs!! I am utterly disgusted and feel the surgery is not fit for purpose. I shall be looking to move, and purpose for this place to be shut down!!

Dear patient, We are so very sorry in regards to your recent experience with the surgery and we appreciate your comments. We truly understand about the demand on our telephone lines and the difficulty patient's have getting through. The demand for appointments is at a high and the staff/clinicians have to triage the cases. However, we understand your frustration when you are unwell and need to see a GP but there are other services that patients can be referred to when the surgery is at full capacity i.e Urgent Treatment Centre, NHS 111 and the community pharmacy scheme. We are truly sorry that you are considering moving surgeries but this issue is nation wide but we do offer other services to help with patient care and demand. Kind regards Sharon Cooper Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Awful system to get a dr appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 February 2023

Phoned to get an appointment this morning for my father in law who is quite poorly, recently out of hospital. He saw his consultant yesterday who recommended he sees his GP as soon as possible. Me and my husband called over 20 times each to get through calling from exactly 8 am. When we dis get through at 8.15am there were no appointments and no idea when he would get seen. His breathing is struggling and he needs something for it but they are just not bothered! And we couldn't understand what the receptionist was saying most of the time she kept going muffled. Very unimpressed

Dear patient, Thank you for contacting the surgery in regards to your concerns. The telephone lines are very busy especially at that time in the morning there are between 6 to 8 staff answering calls at this time, there are also patients walking into the practice to book at 8am. We do understand your frustration on obtaining an appointment but we have system in place so that you do not have to phone or come in the surgery to book an appointment. This is called SystmOne on-line, you will need to come into the surgery to register you can then book appointments, order medication and see any recent blood test results carried out. If you require this service please call in and we are more than happy to assist you in any way. We are truly sorry for your recent experience and we take these concerns very seriously and we are always aiming to improve our service. Truly sorry Yours sincerely, Sharon Cooper Practice Manager

Dear patient, We are so sorry for your recent experience with the surgery. The surgery does book in-advance appointments upon availability with all clinicians. I would like to state that there are quite a few new members of staff, still in training at present. However this statement should not of been given. I have spoken to all members of staff today and have elaborated that we do book in advance appointments, if they are unsure to speak to colleagues to assist. I would be most grateful if you could contact the surgery directly so that we can resolve this issue to prevent future occurrence. Once again we are so sorry for this matter. Kind regards Sharon Cooper Practice Manager

  7. Review titled Worrying

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 January 2023

Very worrying how " urgent" referals can still be left in the task bar by the drs for the secretaries to do over 3 weeks later. My referal would of still been left there if I hadn't had rang up. This is very worrying as my health is in your hands and an urgent referal is made urgent because of my deteriating health which has declined even more and my referal still not sent off. This hasn't been the 1st time this has happened either.

Dear patient, We are so very sorry for your recent experience with the surgery and we appreciate your comments. The process for referrals is sent via task in order of priority from the clinicians following consultation. The 2WW referrals take very high priority, along with URGENT and then routine. I am unable to peruse your specific issue because I would need your personal information to investigate further. However, I can assure all referrals are carried out in a timely manner. If you would like me to investigate this further please do not hesitate to contact me further, Kind regards Sharon Cooper Practice Manager

Dear Mr David Price, Thank you for your recent comments on the website. I understand that the surgery has contacted you directly today and booked an additional appointment with the Practice Nurse, however if you would have kept your scheduled appointment on the 19.10.22 the Practice Nurse would have dealt with your current medical issue there and then.
