  1. Review titled Patient Communication

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 September 2024

If online repeat prescription items that are ordered and then rejected by the practice, a courtesy call to the patient letting them know would be great. To find out when picking up from the chemist items are missing, to then have to investigate why when you have severe mobility restrictions, to then have to wait for the item to be prescribed again and another visit to the chemist, quite traumatic and unnecessary pain suffered. Another occasion 2 months ago, did a respiratory test with nurse and told gp would phone me with results, did not happen, I had a text from chemist saying prescription ready and I collected an itnhaler not knowing what was wrong with me etc, quite shocking. Makes me feel like I'm not worthy or worth caring about. Care, compassion, courtesy and communication is important.

  5. Review titled Notice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2024

You can't book an appointment in advance. You have to ring at 8am, wait in a queue and be available that day. I work full time and have a 2 hour commute. I can't book a day off to hopefully get an appointment that day! I need to give work notice! What world do we live in?!

Many thanks for your feedback and comment. Most of our appointments are booked on the day so patients do not have to wait a very long time. This followed feedback from patients. We do have some pre-bookable slots which are not booked on the day. If you call our Patient Service Advisors and explain that you are working and have a commute, then they will be able to use one of the pre-bookable appointments. These are at specific allocated times. We also have telephone consultations for patients who cannot attend the surgery and prefer to have telephone consultations. If you have any further comments then please do not hesitate to contact the practice.

  6. Review titled needs to embrace modern communications

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 July 2023

I hesitate to believe they have deliberately ignored what modern communications can do to help their practice but it is hard to know what to believe when you explore how a patient can communicate with the practice, 1 telephone: one published mumber filtered via a voice processing system . Choose a number and then queue while pay local call charges for sometimes what seems for ever. Unlucky you if its urgent but Oh yes. ring 999 2 appointments only available at 0830 or 1130 for same day only appointments. 3 Dont attempt to email. Their email is virtually im[possible to find and unlikely to attract a reply. 4 NHS App: wonderful for most parts of the NHS but not for the Village Practice who only allow it to be used for repeat prescriptions . It is a shame they dont seek advice on making efficient use of the tools they already have .An excellent phone system and voicemail system which appear to suffer from a lack of integration and efficient programming. Why have a Rolls and only use first gear?

  7. Review titled Amazing staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Anderson - Posted on 06 January 2023

Covid has had a huge impact on staffing and demand! However, I know when I need the surgery they are there for us. Initially acute conditions are often now dealt with over the phone saving time and contact, streamlined so you get the right level of care. This time however, I needed a face to face and it was so lovely to be cared for despite feeling so poorly. From reception, to Advanced Nurse Practioner and my asthma nurse passing as I left, it was heartwarming to receive such kindness. Staff who know us, concerned and making time to smile and care. Going above and beyond. There have been so many staff leaving over 3 years. Those that remain, working harder than ever, with new staff, to be there for us, adapting to new ways of working and increasing caseloads. I am so very grateful to The Village Practice, thank you x

I just wanted to say a big thank you to the village practice for all your help. I think we are all quick enough to shout out when things are bad. So I think it’s nice to also shout out when you get the help needed. I can’t thank you enough for the help received. Xxx

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Margaret Lumb - Posted on 02 December 2022

I have been with this practice for many years and have always received excellent care. The receptionists and GPS are very caring and efficient whilst doing what must be challenging work at times I couldn’t complain about a thing & feel very fortunate and grateful to receive such a good service, usually delivered with a smile and good humor.
