    I needed an appointment for my seven week old baby. I called at 8am and had booked a same day appointment within six minutes of being on the call despite initially being 12th in the queue. The appointment was with an experienced GP who made me feel listened to and reassured. They listened to my concerns and validated my worries while offering a clear and thought through treatment plan with a plan to follow up if there was no change. Overall a very positive experience.

    I obtained a same day appointment no trouble at all. I saw the doctor on Tuesday , the same day. I obtained diagnosis and the doctor recommended that I had an xray which i had on the following day, Wednesday I think that is excellent efficient service. No problem obtaining same day appointment Friendly helpful and efficient receptionists Excellent friendly helpful and caring doctors that know what they are talking about No complaints whatsoever and cannot see what others have to complain about. People complain they may have to wait so what? That means the staff are thorough in what they do.they go out of their way to ensure welfare of their patients and in my opinion we have an excellent practice with all staff taking pride in service they provide.     A visit today to discuss several worrying problems. As always was a very helpful and pleasant experience. Was given time and made to feel welcome. I cannot thank this surgery enough for all the care I always receive.

    Over the period of a year I saw 2 different GPs on 3 separate occasions regarding a 2 skin lesions. At my 1st appointment I was given anti-fungal cream which made little difference. After about 6 months of using the cream I returned to see a second GP who sent a skin scrap to be analysed. I returned to the practice to see a GP for the third time and the GP confirmed the lesion was probably not fungal and suggested that as I was concerned perhaps I should see a dermatologist. It was stated that as I had private healthcare I should use this. I started the process of trying to see a Dermatologist privately in Jan/Feb 2023. There was a 3 month wait and unfortunately the Dermatologist who I planned to see went on long term sick leave so I contacted a second dermatologist. By then I was getting quite worried so I sent pictures of one of my lesions to the Dermatologist. The Dermatologist was concerned and sent the pictures to a surgeon at East Grinstead Hospital (McIndoe centre) and I was advised that one of the lesions looked very suspicious and should be immediately removed. I heard of this just prior to me leaving to go on a 2 week holiday. Over my holiday I contacted the surgeon who informed me that I potentially had a squamous cell carcinoma that needed to be removed immediately. Both lesions have now been removed. During this process I learned that East Grinstead Hospital runs a 2 week wait service (NHS) for referrals of suspicious skin lesions and I was informed that the advice is that if a GP is in any doubt , the GP should immediately refer the patient to use this service. Luckily for me both lesions have been removed and for now my situation has been resolved. But despite this, I experienced a huge amount of anxiety which could have been totally avoided, it has also costs me financially and more importantly, the stressful situation totally dominated my holiday. Considering all of this, I strongly recommend that the GPs at Tonbridge Medical group are re-educated /retrained on how to use the 2 week wait service at East Grinstead Hospital. This would help to avoid other patients having to go through the same stressful situation that I have suffered or worse, have their cancers undiagnosed.
