Review titled Problems with repeat prescription requst
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Marion Goldfeather - Posted on 08 February 2024
Why is it taking 5 days for a repeat prescription request? Twice now my prescription hasn't been sent to the chemist (next door to the surgery) . I have asked what the problem is and been told and been give different reasons. I rely on my Meds but now having to put my request in earlier and earlier .

Dear Marion Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. I am sorry that you experienced delays in obtaining your medication. There can be a number of steps involved in issuing prescription requests and without the specific details I am unable to comment. However, I am happy to look into this matter further. In order to this, please email for my attention to nnicb-nn.c84010@nhs.net Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Natasha Clarke - Posted on 21 May 2024
I have been trying to get an appointment for months for the same issue, and have received no help whatsoever. They tell me to call at 8am… so I do and I’m told there are no appointments left, and to call at 1pm when they release more, so I do, and I’m told there are no appointments and to call back the next day… it is a never ending cycle of being told the same thing! When I have finally managed to acquire an appointment in the past, I’m made to feel as though the problem I have isn’t being taken seriously… and I’m made to feel as though I’m being dramatic, or seeking attention. There is not enough understanding and research into women’s health… at any GP surgery, but this has become a bit of a joke. I’ve been made to feel as though I am completely on my own in trying to resolve the issue I’m having, and that I am going to have to find a way to deal with this myself, despite the fact I have been trying to do that for months. I wouldn’t recommend this surgery to anybody!

Dear Natasha Thank you for your comments, I am sorry you were dissatisfied with the service you received. Like all of General Practice, the demand for GP appointments exceeds the capacity at Trentside. Around 95% of NHS contact with patients occurs in Primary Care, whilst this only receives around 5-8% of the NHS budget. You may want to consider writing to your local MP to highlight that improved funding is needed in Primary Care. I have recently joined the practice as the Practice Manager and I would be happy to look into your experience to review the care provided. If this is something you would like me to do, please email the surgery for my attention on nnicb-nn.c84010@nhs.net We are always grateful for patient feedback and appreciate the time you have taken to provide this. Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

Review titled Why does the website say they are accepting new patients?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Joy - Posted on 19 December 2023
Following an asthma review appointment with a nurse having told her I had been coughing for a few weeks, she said if I still had it in a few weeks to see a doctor to rule out 'anything nasty going on'. I'm still coughing 2 months later, have lost my sense of taste and smell and have bad acid reflux (didn't get the chance to tell the receptionist these last two, once she'd told me there were no appointments after I'd spent another half an hour waiting to get through on the phone she didn't ask if I had any other symptoms causing me concern). My point is that if a surgery cannot accommodate existing patients why are they allowed to say they can take on new ones? I am desperately worried that there is something really wrong but they couldn't be less interested. Saying they know how difficult it is (how can they when they haven't asked for any information and aren't medically qualified) but they 'cannot give what they don't have' and that's it is disgraceful. They also said to try calling back at 2pm 'but it's unlikely we'll have anything'. You see adverts on TV saying not to carry worries about cancer around with you, to see your GP, but this is impossible. My dad died of lung cancer. I am scared and they don't care. If you're looking for a GP don't choose this one, they have enough already that they can't look after.

Review titled Appointment
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Steve Epton - Posted on 10 November 2023
I needed to make an appointment after receiving a text message from the practice. I have now rang a total of 6 times throughout the day at non urgent times and have yet to be below waiting position 12. Looks as if I now have to visit the practice in order to make an appointment . Very disappointed .

Dear Steve Thank you for taking the time to leave the practice a review. I am sorry that you have had difficulty in getting through to the practice. Following patient feedback, we have installed a new phone system this week which has enhanced features such as a call back option for patients who would prefer to not wait in the phone queue. I am meeting with our Patient Participation Group in July and we will discuss feedback around the new system then. Kind regards Carly Widziernikow Practice Manager

Review titled Terrible response from receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 November 2023
Went to get my prescription on Saturday only for the chemist to say it had not been ordered. Called doctors today and spoke to a very unpleasant woman who said it had not been ordered. When l protested it had she said there was a glitch last week and that some prescription requests were not picked up, When l asked if she could do it today she said l had to go to the doctors and manually request it. A joke as that was phased out years ago. When l asked could they do it urgently as it was morphine she just kept reciting what was ordered and when l asked did she think l was lying she just recited the same things again. I said l knew what was ordered and was more bothered that the morphine was not there and she put the phone down on me. Went to speak to the practice manager only to find that there are no managers there any more as they were all at Trentside, Surely there should be someone there that is of a managerial position to speak to. This does not help when you need morphine and it cannot be obtained without the prescription. I would have thought that after explaining what had happened transferring the records over to Trentside she would have said that it was their problem not that of the patient and that a contingency plan was in place for such problems. 43 years with this practice and l have never know it so bad. Getting an appointment is also a nightmare and yet l have had 9 messages and phone calls asking me to get my covid and flu jabs. Having spoken to family all have stated the attitude of one member of staff shows she is clearly in the wrong job!

Review titled Unable to cope?
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by David Jones - Posted on 27 November 2023
I had hoped that their "take over" of Peacock might have improved the latter, but not the case. So far waited 8 weeks for results of a crucial post-prostate radiotherapy blood test. Results not on website and no one but a Doctor can tell me a simple number, which I am perfectly capable of interpreting for myself. Fact that has to be a secret until a Doctor can speak to me strongly suggests that bad news. The whole process has impacted badly on my stress levels. I'm not even convinced that blood sample ever sent by them - I went to QMC and had a sample taken there! If result "bad" I need to make some financial decisions, so I need to know.

Review titled Fantastic!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chris Coleman - Posted on 20 August 2023
I had a flare up of my eczema but with complications/infection. I was really bad when I called into the centre one afternoon and was told to return at 8.00am the next day. I was given an appointment for 9.30 am that day with the skin specialist. He examined and prescribed treatment for it and also noticed my arthritis was worse so gave me an appointment for the next day with the on-site physio. She examined me and discussed the options before we decided that a hip replacement was necessary. Altogether beyond excellent- absolutely outstanding.
