Review titled Excellent practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Richard Cook - Posted on 10 October 2023
I was given an appointment on the morning when I sent in my request for one. The doctor was known to me and she knew me. She was thorough in examination and assessment of medical matters and in communicating them to me. She asked pertinent questions, took time and was sympathetic and understanding in listening to my lengthy account of my state of mind. The appointment with her was as therapeutic as any conventional therapy. I might also add that those on reception and others in the practice have been uniformly understanding and efficient.

My doctor was friendly, compassionate and supportive, took time to explain everything that I didn’t understand or knew little about… I left feeling much happier.

Review titled Good practice
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Everyone I have dealt with has been both efficient and kind. I went in for blood tests and was found to be pre diabetic. I’ve had a second test and am awaiting results. I’ve tried to improve these by changing my diet.

Review titled Appointments
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 October 2023
I usually have really good experiences with the practice but recently an administrator called to book me an appointment. The day came and my appointment was not fulfilled. I called the practice explaining an appointment had been made for me for the day in question, but I had had no contact from the doctor. They explained they could see records that an appointment had been given but it had not been put on the system. They apologised and rescheduled this for a week later. This caused significant anxiety waiting for my appointment.

Review titled Great professionals. Very helpful
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The experience un the surgery was perfect. The GP doctor was great. Treated me wonderfully well, explained what I have and how to treat it. The time allocated per patient is ridiculously short so she had to do all quickly , but that is not her fault.

Review titled Tragic decline in service
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 July 2023
I have been attending this practice now for 14 years, and have previously raved about its exceptional quality to friends. I felt very lucky and incredibly well served. However, in the last several years, service has declined to the point where I am considering a move. One salient change is the lack of full time, highly experienced GPs that enable you to develop a consistent, long-term doctor/patient relationship. I get a different GP each time, and because I don't have a doctor who I consistently see and have access to, I often don't feel understood like I used to. The second major decline is in the online booking system. It used to be that you could simply call on the day, talk to a real, nice human being, and have some flexible accommodation arranged. Now, I have to use an online form and wait to hear back from some anonymous judge as to whether I will merit being seen. I understand that there were pressures on their reception staff previously, with all the phone calls. However, from the patient standpoint, this simply feels like an impersonal obstacle. I no longer feel like I am being treated as an individual, but rather as a problem to be solved. Combined with the mix-and-match approach to assigning doctors to cases, I feel anonymous and poorly served. I mourn the loss of the old practice and the personal relationships I had with the one or two doctors I had seen and their thoughtful approach to my care. On the positive side, the doctors and nurses seem well trained and attentive when you see them, which is great. But the overall quality of care is suffering because of the changes in admin highlighted above. Tragic.

Review titled Excellent quick response
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Carol Holloway - Posted on 06 April 2023
Having felt increasingly unwell in the morning, I submitted an online request at 1, got a phone call back at 3 and saw a GP face to face at 4.10, on the day before the long Easter weekend. Everyone was friendly, professional and efficient. I can’t fault it, very grateful for such good service.

Review titled Such a joke practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Karla Pastor Bonel - Posted on 28 April 2023
Appaling Receptionists service. I had to call the 111 as I was in agony after three days trying to book an appointment in that practice and they meant and had to call me the same day and they completely ignored me. I provided with my telephone number and instead of reaching me out, they decided to send a text message to my boyfriend’s telephone number saying I should wait over a week as I had my first session with my physiotherapy in 9 days. I would like to mention that I did not get signed off work so I was working full time with a 2 year old boy. So non stop.

Review titled Good dr’s but new booking system difficult
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 February 2023
The dr’s are generally quite good, however trying to book an appointment has now become even more difficult. I phoned to book an appointment a month in advanced. I’m then told to book online, however it says that due to there being no more appointments today they have closed the booking system. I didn’t want an appointment today. I was told to book on Monday between 8am and 12pm. Then the dr will review whether I need one. This all seems a bit long winded…all I wanted was a regular check up to get a new prescription for the contraceptive pill. It’s never been an issue to book that over the phone…it’s a standard appointment. Online booking system seems very flawed.
