i have recently been diagnosed with COPD and was struggling until i was seen by jen and caroline who are specialist respiratory nurses i was so happy as between them i am now able to function so much better and my breathing is easier it is a credit to the whole team at tudor lodge that i can honestly say after being at this practise for over 30 years my wife and my son we have always been cared for and it upsets me how some people treat clinicians once again thank you so much for continuing to care for me and my family

  2. Review titled Fantastic Nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by JBrown - Posted on 08 July 2024

Visited for my teenage daughter. Nurse was absolutely brilliant. She had a great way to get down on my daughters level and making her feel comfortable. Inabling my daughter to talk freely and with confidence. The kind nurse then spent extra time explaining everything clearly. This nurse is an asset to your team.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. I would love to pass this on to the specific nurse. If you would be kind enough to contact me directly to let me know when you attended I can do that. Positive feedback like this is invaluable to the team. I can be contacted at Suzie.Heller@nhs.net Many thanks.

  4. Review titled Picked up on early stage cancer that I ignored

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anke - Posted on 01 April 2024

The GP I saw recently picked up on some vague complaint that I mentioned casually and did not feel important. She then suggested I’d have a scan just to check, and to my great shock early stage cancer was detected, for which I am being fast-tracked for surgery in a week’s time. So in my case she may very well have saved my life or has at least improved my chances dramatically. In my experience everyone has been more than kind and helpful at this surgery.

  5. Review titled Treatment of elderly people

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My 91 year old housebound mother has been asking for a very long time to have someone come and assess her for pain as she is unable to get to the surgery. She has been promised call backs which never happen and, due to her age (and generation), she doesn’t like ‘to be a nuisance’. Today she was called by the physio and has been offered a knee injection (the knee isn’t the issue- it’s her hip but they said no, she could have a knee injection) but apparently no one can visit her at home to administer it so they booked her an appointment and she needs to organise getting herself to the surgery. The last time she went to the surgery it took 2 people to get her there. She is in so much pain (constantly) that getting in and out of the car is impossible without her screaming. As it happens, I will be visiting her this weekend so will try and get her there, although the last time I tried to get her in my car (about 2 years ago) it was so painful for her that we gave up and she said never again. She constantly tells me that they don’t care about her because she’s so old and they don’t want to bother. She has been with this surgery for about 40 years and I am appalled by the lack of care she is shown. I know that other surgeries will do home visits for steroid injections but she has been told categorically that it’s not possible. I told her this today and she said maybe I should tell the NHS this…so here I am.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back about your experience. I would like to respond more fully and wonder if you could get in touch with me so we can take some details (after obtaining your mother's consent). We undertake home visits frequently to assess patients but am sorry if your Mum has fed back that she wasn't offered this. It is generally much safer to provide care in the surgery but I'm sure the clinicians would discuss options. Perhaps you could get in touch with me so we can look into this further?
