I think that the telephone system has improved and is very good,I have had to ring the surgery a couple of times this month and the phones were answered very quickly, and staff was friendly and polite.

I really appreciate the front desk staff as they are always very polite and understanding and friendlt even when they have difficult situations which I witnessed ,another patient shouting at the staff, they were very professional in handling the matter in a calm sense.keep up the good work and friendly atmosphere.

  4. Review titled Difficulty with the service on multiple fronts

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 August 2022

The practice telephone system appears to work as ad-hoc. When you can get through you are waiting a long time in a queue. The line then cuts dead as you get close to the front. Ring back and this repeats. Head down to the surgery. Only one receptionist with a long queue and they tell you to ring back on a Tuesday or a Thursday to get appointment. You tell them you can’t get through. They tell you to send an email. You send an email and you get no response. Sometimes the surgery is little open but closed. They wont acknowledge they have a telecoms problem. In the lucky event you can get appointment, you can’t get an appointment with your regular doctor and the doctor tells you they have only 5 minutes. The changes to the practice have not been properly consulted. I am surprised none of this was picked up on the recent cqc. In my view the practice has gone from best in the area to fairly average.

We have recently introduced a new cloud based telephone system which allows more calls in to the practice and we are able to monitor telephone call activity. This has reduced call wait times considerably. Telephone calls should not be getting cut off unless there is a line fault which can be caused by factors outside of our control. We have also employed more call handlers as well as reorganise staffing schedules to ensure more telephone calls are handled during peak times which are generally between 9am – 10:30am and 2pm to 4pm. We would like to explore your particular experience in more detail with you. Please contact the surgery and ask to speak with the complaints lead who will do his best to help audit trail and improve the service. We consulted our patient participation group throughout the process of merging to a new telephone system provider and they provided us with patient expectations about how the system should be structured. If you continue to have problems, please do email the practice or speak directly with the complaints lead who would be only too happy to help.

Good time keeping at the surgery unlike my old practice where doctors and nurses appointments can run extremely late and kept waiting,he the time keeping is good.
