My husband and I, together with a very elderly parent have recently moved to Wimborne. We are extremely pleased with the service of all staff, particularly the reception staff who have a very difficult job. The lady on duty,morning 17th June, was professional and dealt with all our enquiries with efficiency and empathy. Walford Mill doctors surgery is highly recommended.

What has happened to Walford Medical Centre? - Used to be excellent. My adult son, who I have put my life on hold to care for, for the last six months after a serious breakdown, has had nothing but problems with the " Care Navigators"/receptionists that answer the phone ( if it is answered at all) regarding prescriptions etc. and most vitally to us, actually obtaining his medication because a doctor has not signed it off in days - running completely low on his medication - which is now pretty much a lifeline to both of us, is both incredibly stressful and it feels quite frankly that we are battling just to get hold of it. The attitude is very wrong especially for a doctors surgery where care and compassion is surely a vital requirement when dealing with people who are obviously already suffering. To make things worse when I have called in person I have been answered with shrugged shoulders and obvious irritation despite remaining polite, by the receptionist. I would certainly no longer recommend this surgery to anyone especially if they have young children as I did when we first registered.

The most thorough GPs who are kind, caring and provide a high standard of professionalism. I feel very lucky to be a patient at this practice.

Walford Mill Medical Centre's reception staff must consistently be amongst the most unprofessional, unhelpful staff at any GP. I've even been sniggered at by a receptionist when requesting urgent antibiotics for a UTI. And that's just one example. The entire reception staff need urgent training or replacing.
