Review titled Appalled at the inability to get through on phone
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 July 2024
I have a serious concern, tried calling all day on Friday no answer. Was concerned all weekend, bank holiday Monday so called Tuesday from 8:30 am constantly engaged and then when you did get through put on hold until the dial tone let me know call was ended, this happened twice so I went down to surgery to request an appointment. To be told the reason for phone line being busy is because people turn up to surgery looking for appointments so receptionist cannot answer calls. I requested an appointment and was asked to submit a photo and I would be triaged it is now 3:50 no call back ( triage on their website says til 12 noon) i have tried hundreds of times this afternoon to call again engaged tone or repeatedly hear same message. I will now have to access out of hours service tonight. Due to surgery not being able to answer calls It is not the first time I have had to spend days trying to get through and I now wish to leave this practice due to this. Very stressful and reception staff and not very welcoming.

Review titled Not a good practise
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 May 2024
Issue 1 ----- The practise close for lunch at 12. I called at 11:55 and was in the hold queue. It came up to say I was number 1 in the queue. After holding for 7 minutes (its not 12:02) they disconnect the line, ending my call and removing me from the queue. As I had been on hold from before they went on lunch I would assume they would at least answer those calls first before closing the line. This was not a technical issue - the same thing has happened multiple times when calling at this time. It is not a one off. Issue 2--------- This practise is very busy. If I ever need an appointment I have my phone ready to dial as the clock hits 8am when they open. When I call at 8am on the dot I get an engaged tone. I have asked the practise about this and was told they only allow 10 people to hold at once. What is annoying about this is - often you call, call, call, call, call repeatedly hoping you get connected to the hold queue to have an engaged tone every time. It is entirely luck based. Someone could call for their first call attempt at 8:30, and just so happen to get connected into the 10 person hold before myself who has been trying repeatedly since 8am with constant engaged tones. How could this ever be considered a good system? This setup is entirely unfair and wastes patients time. The longest I have ever spent redialling over and over again to get connected to the hold queue is 40 minutes. When I call - please allow me to go into a queue. I don't care if I am number 23 in the queue. I am happy to wait my turn. What I am not happy about is having to make 47 consecutive calls before I hit the jackpot and happen to be number 10 in the hold queue. Issue 3----- I have been referred to a mental health practitioner. I had an appointment which they cancelled. I believe their staff member has left and they had no replacement. After a good delay I asked the reception if this problem had been resolved and how could I get a new appointment booked in. I was advised this was still not resolved and they currently didn't have a mental health practitioner. Issue 4----- The reception team are generally pleasant however they can be very dismissive of your symptoms. I recently had a call and the receptionist told me there was no appointments. I asked for an emergency appointment. Her tone of voice and general huffyness made it very clear she did not want to give me an emergency appointment. After she asked me questions about my condition - she concluded with her medical expertise that I could now have an emergency appointment. FYI - when I came in for the appointment the doctor sent me to hospital. Had I not pushed the receptionist for an emergency appointment my health could have been severely effected. I hope they try to be more outgoing in the future and not act like a gatekeeper for medical assistance.

Review titled The Practice is unbelievably bad

I regret to inform you that my experience with this general practice has been extremely disappointing. The receptionists have displayed unprofessional behavior when I was explaining my son’s situation on 25/03/2024, the receptionist was dismissive and abrupt, making me feel unwelcome. She ended up dropping the phone on me saying she doesn’t have time to listen. It's as if there is a clique mentality among them, which can be quite intimidating. They laughed at my concerns and escalated my situation when I was appealing that they listen to me after dropping the phone on me( I had to drive there). Today a staff member threatened to involve the police during a simple request for an appointment explanation for my son after the receptionist dropped the call on me. It's truly distressing to have to interact with them, and I've developed anxiety about contacting the practice. It's unfortunate that their behavior overshadows the medical care they offer, making it challenging for me to feel comfortable seeking help. I would recommend avoiding this practice to my friends if possible as no one deserves this type of treatment. It's disheartening to encounter such inhumane treatment in a healthcare setting.

Review titled Not a great practice

This clinic never has face to face appointment available. Even online appointment takes a long time. I'm concerned about the level of attention to detail. My partner recently requested a blood test and was booked for a vaccination instead by mistake. Patient safe does not seem to be top priority

Review titled Waste of time!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Elizabeth Cooney - Posted on 10 June 2023
My GP rearranged my appointment with this group out of hours. This GP called me to tell me they couldn't prescribe any antibiotics as they would need to see me, and they couldn't see me either as rhey had no appointments. So what was the point of the call? It was a waste of my time, and hope that I would be getting the help i need today. It is absolutely ridiculous that despite being able to access my medical records and see that this is an ongoing issue that will only be rectified with surgery, they wouldn't help me. Stating that they can't give antibiotics out over the phone - seemed to be fine during the pandemic, dont see why in this situation they couldn't do the same. So I am left in pain, feeling very unwell and can't see my own GP until Monday. Thanks for nothing!

Review titled Just avoid

I had a skin rash problem and tried to book an appointment with econsult online, I was offered to upload a couple of photos and wait for a morning phone appointment in 2 weeks without a specific time slot. I rang the reception to request an in person appointment and was rejected as he said the doctors believe the phone call and photos are sufficient for the treatment, I told him my skin is very itchy and uncomfortable, the receptionist said he had no knowledge to advise nor could he get any help from doctors before my scheduled phone appointment. On the appointment day I missed the call as I did not know what time they would call, i was then told the call would be rescheduled in 1 week after. I finally managed to speak to a doctor over the phone after 3 weeks, ironically she said she couldn’t diagnose me from photos so an in person appointment is needed, which is what I initially requested as I could not understand how doctors can treat skin problems from photos only. From there I would have to wait for another 2 weeks for an in person appointment. This is literally the worst GP clinic experience I have ever had, and I have already moved to another local GP with a much higher google rating and I have never needed to move GPs in the same area, I have completely lost trust in this practice for any future health problems. The staff I’ve experienced clearly lack both compassion and competence, I am surprised they are still open to take on more new patients when their existing patients are struggling to make appointments effectively.
