  1. Review titled Just can't get through!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had a test undertaken on Friday and desperately needed the results today (Monday) I have severe symptoms and desperately need antibiotics. So i waited until the alloted time of 11am to call for test results. When I rang the first time I waited from 6th to first position in the queue. Then the phone rang for a further 25 minutes once I went past 1st position. No answer. So thinking maybe there may be a fault with their phone I hung up and rang again. The second time I was 4th in the queue then once I got past 1st position I waited 15 minutes. This time a total of 28 minutes. Again i gave up. In the end I drove to the surgery, which is very local. Thereweree three receptionist, not one on a phone and to my surprise, no phones ringing. They were clearly turned of or put to silence. I asked the receptionist if there was an issue with the phones and explained my experience, she said "Yeah, we are busy" But no phones ringing and no one was on a phone! Specific times to ring for several issues are fine, but at least attempt to answer. This is a constant issue with the practice. I was told that my test results were back and if there is anything wrong they will call, if not, we won't ring. But if I still wanted to call back later I was told I could. Yes a fact lot of good that would be if no one answers when patients call! Terribly unreliable service!

  2. Review titled Extremely long wait time and no appointments!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 May 2023

I spent 30 minutes on hold - being told I was fourth, third, second and then first in the queue. When the phone finally rang, it took a further 15 minutes for anyone to answer!! (Yes I waited that long to see if someone would eventually pick up). I finally got through to the practice to book a doctor's appointment to be told they didn't have any appointments and to phone back tomorrow at a specific time for more appointments to be released! The member of staff offered no apology for the ridiculous wait time and no apology for the fact they couldn't find me an appointment. What a waste of time!

Dear Patient Thank you for your comments. Following your comment I have looked into this matter and we have now changed the process of our phone systems and the way it handles when queuing. I agree that it was not correct and hopefully following the changes we have made to the system your experience will improve. I thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback and be assured we try to rectify errors to ensure your GP journey is a good one. Should you wish to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact the surgery and speak to me - Charlene Neale Practice Manager
