Review titled Let me down re ADHD referral
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Luke Bouzguenda - Posted on 24 January 2025
I have been trying to get a an ADHD assessment referral via Right to Choose but despite having seen a number of Doctors at the practice and providing all the information and web links (which can only be completed by a GP everyone refuses to help stating that 'there systems do not allow it'. It's a standard web link and a short form to complete so I cannot understand what's so difficult or what 'system' is a barrier. They keep giving me the same answer and then ignoring any follow-up questions or providing any alternatives except sitting on a waiting list for upwards of 2 years to be assessed. Right to Choose is a recognized programme and I cannot understand why this practice cannot follow the process outlined

Review titled Dangerous

My GP is amazing but there are serious issues at this surgery. I put in a request for repeat medication last Tuesday. I asked the receptionist if it had been increased to 40 mg, the receptionist said she did not know because she was not medical. So I had no idea if I would be issued the right anount. They were in receipt of a letter authorising the medication to go upto 40mg from the Jane Atkins Wellbeing centre which had been authorised by a psychiatrist. 6 days later I informed the reception I was completely out of medication and that I had been waiting since last Tuesday. Initially the receptionist printed out a prescription for 30mg, and told me I had to wait a couple of days for it. I told her it was the wrong amount and that I needed it today as I had completely run out and I had already put the prescription in last Tuesday .The receptionist told me the in-house pharmacist had to approve the medication increase, and they couldn't do it today and they never issue prescriptios on the day, yet the surgery had been in receipt of the letter to increase the meds to for over two weeks and had done absolutely nothing and I had requested the meds 6 days ago. This surgery were completely at ease with me having to wait another couple of days with no meds despite it not being my fault and giving me the prescription for the wrong amount. This is a dangerous way to treat people with mental health issues who have requested the correct amount of medication in plenty of time. In the end I had to call the Jane Atkins Well being centre and a mental health nurse had to contact them to tell them to issue my prescription at the correct dose.
