    I saw a practice nurse for consultation and advice in a travel clinic today. She was thorough, patient and extremely helpful: I could not have asked for a more positive and supportive experience.

    Twice now I have been sent automated requests for one off blood pressure measurements. I am in good health and taking no medication. The first time I phoned in to ask why and the receptionist did not know so I ignored it. It has just happened againand I can't find another way to contact them so I am leaving this review hoping someone at the surgery will see it. Until I am told why I am getting these requests and I agree to their use, I will be ignoring them. Service from this surgery has always been excellent, so I find this strange.

    Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your valuable feedback. It is difficult to be case specific as you have not provided your name and so I cannot contact you directly from the practice. However, if you are in good health then the most likely reason for contacting you is that we do not have an up-to-date blood pressure for you. It is a requirement within part of the GP contract to obtain a blood pressure reading every 5 years for those over the age of 45 years. Many patients who are healthy do not attend the surgery regularly and so, where we have a mobile number, we send a text message.     In my recent experience the admin team went over and above what I would expect in ensuring I was able to get a GP to look at some photos, and then securing an appointment with the nurse and doctor following this. I had very efficient and fast call backs and was very satisfied. I have nothing but praise for every experience I have had with this practice.

    Yesterday early morning I was struggling with an infection and phoned at 8.00 am to speak to receptionist at Wsterfront Surgery...This member of staff was kind, thoughtful and efficient. i was seen at 8.30 at Hythe Hospital and had medicine from Boots an hour later .... i wanted to let Waterfront Surgery know what great staff members they have and how grateful i am to have their support and professionalism .... a very big thank you ......

    Dear Mr /Mrs/Miss? BMP, Patients who request an urgent same day appointment are directed to our Urgent Care Centre at Hythe Hospital. Patients who just need a repeat prescription can order this using the NHS or Patient Access app. Based on the little information you have provided in your comment I can only really respond by answering "WHY did you not order your repeat prescription through the app?" Without providing your name we cannot look into this any further. Please do not hesitate to call the surgery with your details if you want us to give a more meaningful response.     I’ve been with this practice for a long time but I have had issues with a certain member of staff from reception, on a few occasions now , it’s a shame that you are told to book an appointment to deal with something that’s already been dealt with by another member at reception but then told that no appointments are available to book. I feel like I’m constantly going around in circles & not being able to get any help, just attitude on the phone. If a GP partner or practice Manager, could please give me a call to discuss this, I’d be grateful.

    Had blood test trued to book apiontment computer says no get letter of doctor to see him go down to book appointment computer says no I haven’t seen doctor in 10. Years this is a joke just want appointment like old days you can’t book in moths time

In current times we have more demand then we have capacity to provide for, and therefore run our appointment system runs at 100% capacity on a daily basis.     Disappointed that a basic question about eligibility for the Autumn Covid booster could not be answered . Sadly no one in reception even had the correct information on the required age , it’s actually 65yrs and over plus vulnerable groups , not 70 & 75 yrs . I was asking on behalf of a 67 yr old family member who is a temporary patient until moving to her permanent home locally .

    Both myself and my daughter needed emergency appointments but the receptionists decided that We were unworthy of an appointment despite a hospital consultant telling my daughter she needed one!

    Dear Mrs C, Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that your experience with our surgery has not met your expectation. In order for us to investigate your concern we would need to know your name, your daughter's name and the name of the consultant who advised you to book an emergency appointment. This way we can investigate your concerns. Usually the only reason we cannot offer a same day appointment is that either there are no more appointments available, or the reception team are following the triage protocols set out by the GPs. Also, if a consultant feels a patient needs urgent treatment, then they can often start some treatment themselves. We would certainly explore this on your behalf if you would like.
