Review titled GP appointment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs M Harvey - Posted on 15 August 2024
Very good service and prompt service. GP was considerate and gave all information about the procedure with the option to come back if it doesn't work as well as expected.

Review titled Excellent Health Centre
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mary Rachel Price - Posted on 11 May 2024
I was feeling ill and spoke to the receptionist who was very helpful and I got an appointment quickly as I needed antibiotics & steroids. I have had good previous experience of getting appointments when needed, although thankfully I have not needed one that often. When I have attended for routine screening all the staff are welcoming and friendly which helps you to relax. I usually get a smile and a response to my 'goodbye' on leaving

Review titled why bother
Rated 1 star out of 5

I tried to book an appointment for my Mum. When I finally got through, the receptionist would not let me book without a detailed explanation of her illness. Since, obviously, I couldn't do that, they wouldn't book her in and basically put the phone down on me. Absolutely disgusting. When did receptionists become triage nurses? And why do I have to give personal health details to an unqualified person.? This surgery is getting worse and worse.

Thank you for leaving feedback for the practice. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy after an encounter with the practice. The receptionists are asked to take the reasons of the appointments by the GP's. This is because they are expected to signpost where appropriate into the several community services available to us, dependent on the symptoms presented. For example, we have appointments with MSK Specialists, self-referrals to services such as Stop Smoking Services, Physio and Podiatry. This enables us to free up capacity with the GP's for patient that cannot be helped anywhere else. Demand is at an all time high and this is an important step. We would also expect them to identify red flag symptoms and refer patients to hospital when necessary to avoid any delay in treatment. I'd be happy to listen to the telephone call recording to ensure staff followed the expected procedures if you would like. Please contact the practice if you would like to discuss this any further. Kind regards, Jenny Collins (Assistant Practice Manager)
