Welling Medical Practice have received a lot of bad reviews in the past, however over the last few months I have seen a marked improvement. I called there earlier this week and they were very helpful and polite and a doctor called me back within a couple of hours. We are all quick to criticise, but they are definitely trying to improve. Keep up the good work...

Receptionists didn’t answer the phone when I called at 8am. For 18 minutes I was on hold. As they kept me on hold, I walked to the practice (whilst still on hold on my mobile) to find no one waiting to be seen at the reception desk and the receptionists gossiping about one of their colleagues - highly unprofessional (all whilst I was still on hold on my mobile phone in front of them!) I said I needed to see someone and was instructed to take a seat for the walk-in clinic. Whilst sitting there I witnessed the two receptionists be rude, unhelpful and try to give their version of medical assistance to patients (some of which was wrong). I was called in to see the GP, who was great. Very attentive, helpful and prescribed treatment for my problem. Overall, the main and only issue I experienced with this GP Practice was the poor receptionists, they need serious training in professionalism and reminding that they are there to help the sick, therefore when ill people call the surgery they should not be sitting around chatting and ignoring potentially serious medical issues.

I have been very satisfied with my experience at the Welling Medical Practice,Avery Hill Rd particularly in the past couple of years. Unfortunately It has been necessary for me to require medical attention on a number of occasions and it has been immediately forthcoming.I have had extremely good service throughout the practice,from receptionists,nurses,prescription clerk and the Doctors. I cannot praise them too highly.

A complete shambles of a doctors practice. The right hand has no idea what the left is doing - and that's if you can even get to speak to anyone. The wait to get a telephone answered is totally unacceptable The worst communication ever

Walk-in appointment now available Monday and Wednesday. Was seen promptly and got prescription for ear infection. Good to see someone face to face.

I have been with Holly House, the Avery Hill branch of WMP for over 20 years. In more recent years l have had a number of illnesses. My experience of reception and prescription staff has been very good. Whenever able they have tried their best to accommodate, have been polite and have always been sympathetic. Doctors have never rushed me, and have been to a good standard. This is just my experience of Avery Hill, but Welling have seemed polite when l have had to go there. I have given 4 and not 5 merely because of the nurse shortage at Avery Hill (hence trips to Welling). The nurses are extremely good, but there are not enough at the moment. Really amazed at some of the negative reviews. The two branches should be identified before publishing.
