  1. Review titled They don't want patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 June 2024

If you call this surgery you have to wade through a recorded msg telling you all the reasons why you shouldn't bother them "we don't do flu jabs, we don't do covid jabs, if you feel poorly put the phone down and ring 999" etc etc. Then once you get through to a receptionist they are downright patronising - without giving graphic info i can't say why, but some of them regard patients as nothing but a nuisance, even suggesting you're making up symptoms. When you do get to see an actual GP it's always a different one and there is just no empathy or kindness whatsoever. And once you have had an appointment, they seem to take pleasure in putting obstacles in your way - repeat prescriptions being a particular favourite - let you run out and then tell you that you need an appointment to see the doctor before you can get a repeat prescription! I actually feel like this practice hates me... would go elsewhere if at all possible

We are very sorry to hear that you feel like this about your experience of the practice. I would be grateful if you could contact the practice manager directly so we can understand your concerns. It is only by understanding the impact of our actions from a patient perspective that we will be able to improve. We are a very busy practice and we now have a range of different clinicians working at the practice, such as first contact physiotherapists, mental health practitioners and clinical pharmacists. Therefore it is important that our team ask you the reasons for contacting the practice so we can ensure that you see the most appropriate clinician as quickly as possible. In May we had 241 patients complete our after appointment survey of which 94% rated their experience as very good or excellent.

  2. Review titled Absolutely shocking

Where to start, refused to see and told to call 999 even though it wasn’t an emergency, discharged from hospital and didn’t read the discharge letter for over 10 days and only then because we needed a repeat prescription and even though I had to phone to ask if meds had been charged I’m then told you can’t order repeat prescriptions over the phone Then because they don’t read discharge letters properly they sent the wrong drugs order to the pharmacy, thankfully the pharmacy are fab and realised so asked me to go through the meds The only reason we stay there is because the pharmacy next door are so good

  3. Review titled Never there when you need it

Rated 1 star out of 5

Unfortunately I've needed to get in touch over the past few months as I have not been well. Every phonecall I make I am in the queue for at least 40 minutes each time. Why can I not book a routine appointment at this surgery? Why do the receptionists never allow me to do so? By 08:01 the appointments are all gone. They just send you to the walk in hospital (it's nurse led and they send you back to the Dr!!!) When I've finally been offered an appointment it's in the next village 5 miles away, 4 days later. I can't remember the last time I saw a GP at my own practice. The phone lines are appalling and this village surgery is unfortunately not fit for purpose anymore, it needs an overhaul. It's a constant battle to actually speak to a receptionist and if you're elderly you won't stand a chance,my next door neighbour said he just suffers now because he hasn't got the energy to stay on the phone that long. Big improvements need to be made here. Why can we not book appointments online like other Dr's surgeries? This practice is letting the village down. What will happen once the new houses are built? How will this surgery cope?

  4. Review titled Dr Call backs

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I contacted the surgery on August 8th 2022 as I needed medication having both my father and brother die in the last 8 weeks in the cruelest of ways which the doctor was aware of ( my father initially) …. I was informed that the doctor would call between 9am and 10 am on the 9th August , I have received no call as of 11.30am I contacted the surgery the receptionist told me that the Doctor had rang me , I made the receptionist aware that I had no missed calls on my phone or messages , as I made sure to carry it with me as I was expecting the call … the receptionist could not tell me when the doctor had called and didn’t seem to be in any rush to expand on anymore info , I asked for a call back later today the receptionist told me this was not possible and to call back the next day ….very very disappointing
