I would like to thank Nurse (review will not let me include name or initials, nurse with black hair) for the care she delivered on 15.01.25 to myself. I feel nurse went above and beyond to be understanding and compassionate in relation to feeling nervous about booking in a smear appointment. She explained the risks, but also took the time to listen and understand. She made me feel comfortable enough to book in my smear, despite years of avoiding this. As a nurse myself (mental health nurse), i feel nurse demonstrated all core values of an excellent nurse, and was very well informed on trauma informed care, and showed empathy towards birth trauma, thank you! On a few of my last consultations at the surgery i had started to loose faith in NHS care, which is disheartening when working in the NHS yourself. However, my consultation with nurse reminded me there are still amazing clinicians in the NHS. I hope the correct nurse will have access to this review despite not being able to include identifiable information. Thank you for the care you provide, you most definitely improve patient outcomes, and are an asset to the surgery

Not easy to contact. Waiting for 30 mins and cut off some time. Not easy to me an appointment. Cannot make online appointment booking and cannot check my health records online.

My blood pressure was high on my visit and I was given a stronger prescription which I had to go to the chemist to pick up. I had three different staff call to make sure I was okay and had gotten the medicine.

On 9th July, 2018 I had prostate surgery at the Newcastle Freeman Hospital. The operation was successful and I experienced no further Urology issues until November last year. I then experienced the first of a series of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Since then, I have had a further 4 UTIs. The treatment I received from the WestFarm GP Practise and Walk in centre has always been a weeks supply of Nitrofurantoin antibiotics and the condition cleared quickly following treatment. I also submitted urine samples as requested, but understand that these have not been conclusive in identifying my problem. Earlier this year, I became concerned at the frequency of these infections and requested a referral to the Freeman Hospital Urology. At no time have I been offered a face to face appointment with a GP and my requests have not been followed. I have just completed the last antibiotic treatment and therefore expect a further UTI in the next few weeks. I would request assistance to end this spiral of never ending treatment and a specialist referral.

The practice is brilliant, from the doctors to the reception staff. Very empathetic at all times. If I call I always receive a call back promptly and am very relieved after discussing problem with gp.

Always friendly and helpful. Proactive re contacting patients. Usual waiting times for pre bookable appointments around 2 weeks but offer emergency appointments on same day
