Tried to see GP in Oct due to foot pain. Referred to physio who gave exercises . After 4 months no change so booked an appointment, 3 weeks wait, GP said arthritis but didn't examine me suggested I ring msk physio which I did straight away I now have appointment to be seen 20th may. I feel that because of my age doctor presume arthritis and not willing to look further. I have since been for private ultrasound and xrayat a cost of 675.00 which ruled out arthritis and mortons neuroma. As for pain management I had a telephone appointment and was prescribed codeine but when i asked for this to be changed as not working was told I need to see a doctor and could have an appointment in 3 weeks.

Very poor, takes an age to even get an appointment in the first place after nearly having to argue with such rude and medically unqualified people on reception. Upon actually having an appointment the gp is very dismissive and rude, and came across as simply not knowing what to do. It would be nice if they just did the jobs they are paid for like the rest of us, the surgery has gone rapidly downhill over time.

We are very sorry you are unhappy with the level of service provided. As you will understand Reception staff, as per NHS Policy, need to determine the reason you are calling in order that you can be signposted to the correct service/appointment. In regard to the GP appointment if you would be so kind as to email the practice (west.hallammc@nhs.net) in order we can look into the matter. KR WHMC
