    As a family we have been going through a very tough time health wise and everybody at Whitby has been amazing - helpful, caring, getting stuff done quickly and efficiently. In particular, managing the transfer from another practice in another area to Whitby. They made sure that the medications we needed were ordered as quickly as possible. Our lives would have been so much more difficult without all their support and help. We cannot thank them enough.

    I've used the surgery twice in the last 5 weeks. First time I did an on-line consultation, received a text then a phonecall from nurse practitioner who invited me in for a check on the same day. Same medical problem has continued so had to ring surgery again a few days ago, rang after 9pm new telephone system, I was third in the queue, got through after about 10 mins. Was given a telephone appointment with GP, who then asked me to come in that morning. All in all I had a face to face appointment, ECG, and Bloods done by lunchtime, With additional prescription sent to my pharmacy. This is much more effective and efficient than in recent times.

    I find patch's the easiest way to get an appointment. However getting a prescription for birth control pill has been sourced out the chemist now and that wasn't a great experience. The cuff for blood pressure monitoring bruised my arm as there was no other size available and if your blood pressure is a little raised, mine is always border line you get referred back to the gp so it's a waste of my time and the very busy pharmacist time!

    Trying to use this service is an absolute joke. Phone lines open at 8AM for a GP appointment, today I called 108 times form 8AM and could not get through, eventually when I called back I was told were full call 111 or go to a walk In center in another area in Merseyside. Which I had to do the week before and wait hours for any kind of triage and help I needed. This service is an absolute disgrace to its users. Especially those in mental health crisis just trying to get help, it’s a massive finger in the face and the staff on the phones do not care. This is a public social service that I pay for and I can not even get to use it, oh well you really are on your own out there

    I attended the surgery with a list of symptoms and had a wide range of blood tests done on the same day. I was called in the afternoon and sent to SDEC where I was diagnosed with blood cancer and admitted to hospital. The GP called me a few days later to check on how I was doing and to remind me that she’s there if I need anything. The kindness, compassion and genuine concern from the practice was excellent and I’m grateful for their efficiency and thoroughness when dealing with my initial consultation at the surgery; it helped me get my diagnosis on the very same day and, as a patient, I can’t really ask for more than that.

    Over the last week I have phoned the practice four times been passed to pillar to post said phone again 2mrw. Just to request a prescription. Felt I was begging for something I was entitled to. Every time I phoned I was number ten in the queue and was on hold for over half an hour just to be told phone back tomorrow to a different person. Not happy at the way I was treated.

    I contacted the practice to try and sort a problem out for my dad. The lady who called me was lovely and extremely helpful. We were booked in for a telephone consultation the same day, when the doctor called she was totally understanding and offered us various options/appointments that were best to suit us. Would definitely recommend the surgery to family/friends. Thank you guys

    I had a very long bout of flu that turned into a chest infection. Due to my health issues I was worried that I needed some extra medication like antibiotics. I went online requesting additional medication , and the surgery called me with an appointment to see someone that day. The service I received and have always received was first class.
