  1. Review titled Shocking service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 July 2024

When you finally get through to get an appointment (telephone not face to face) and you tell them exactly what you have been doing which involves trying your local pharmacy first for them to then prescribe the exact same treatment on prescription which you paid for in the chemist and hasn’t worked for the last 2 weeks. Pharmacist who is great said you need a doctor we can’t give you anything stronger. Call again 8.31sm I am 27th in the queue spoke to a Doctor eventually told him all that I have used for him to go and prescribe again the exact same cream that I told him I have at home and isn’t working. This cream is only different from what you can buy over the counter as it’s a bigger tube but this prescription which is useless anyway is not at any pharmacy I have been to as apparently their is a manufacturer shortage!! I give up with the doctors.

Was given steroids and antibiotics and also asked to book a follow up appointment in 10 days.. lovely helpful receptionist booked my follow on appt. 3. Review titled Worst Practice in Aylesbury

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sick of this Bullshit - Posted on 22 July 2024

Having tried to speak to someone for 8 days I popped in to try and get a pre bookable appointment. Told to contact 111 or go to a&e.............offered to tell her what the problem was and she said she did not want to know. Tried 111 and they said contact gp within 24 hours. Lets hope this infection takes hold then I will be sick enough for a&e. The Front Desk staff have weeks of training to be this rude to people. No wonder they have such a high turn over of staff.

Dear patient, I am sorry to read your review. As you may know there is a significant demand placed on NHS primary care services which has meant that there are certain processes in place to help safely manage it which includes the 111 service. As it currently stands the Practice has an allocation of appointments which 111 are able to directly book into for very urgent cases, once these have reached capacity (and all our ‘on the day’ GP and Allied Health Professional/Pharmacist appointments) then 111 will direct to their own clinicians for onward review. I am afraid that if 111 categorise the issue as non-urgent, they will direct patients back to our care. Unfortunately, when patients call us on the same day, our situation has not changed, and we are still unable to provide an appointment. Patients are expected to contact us and book an appointment. We do understand that this may cause frustration and we can only apologies. With respect to unprofessional attitude, please, email us more details on bccg.whitehillsurgeryadmin@nhs.net and I will investigate further. 4. Review titled Great experience with Whitehill again.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Over 30th in the queue at 8.30 this morning. A lovely receptionist called back quickly. Doctor rang at 9.35, booked me in for bloods and is arranging for a scan. A lot of people complain about Whitehill but personally, as long as I ring dead on 8.30, I've always had a call back from the receptionist followed by a doctor call. Thank you Whitehill!

  6. Review titled Good Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 June 2024

I had my first experience this morning of the dreaded 8.30am call to request a call back for my wife. I was number 22 in the queue so pressed 1 on my phone so that when I reached number 1 in the queue the surgery rang me back. They did at 8.40am and she was booked in for a call back from a paramedic. The paramedic rang at 10am and my wife saw her face to face at the surgery at 11.30am So positive feedback all round 👍

  7. Review titled Appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

The receptionist is always very cold and rude. Personally working for the nhs to have to speak to someone who is meant to be empathetic and encouraging this is really disgusting to see. I was told my application after a month had just been binned and I need to come in and fill another one out. I have been in a serious car accident and I’m still recovering from this. Poplar grove were not able to give me a medication review for 7 months and so thought I’d change here but can’t get one here either! I’ve now been self medicating with really strong medications for nearly a year because you can’t even get an appointment or even just to speak someone over the phone!

  8. Review titled Excellent service delivery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by maz Fowler - Posted on 04 June 2024

I required an updated fit note, I rang the surgery abc spoke to one of the friendly admin team who put through a request directly to my GP as my online request had failed. I received my new fit note the same afternoon. The lady I spoke to was very helpful, polite and apologetic for the app failure. I can highly recommend the practice

  9. Review titled Quick and efficient service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Hazel - Posted on 09 April 2024

I had a telephone consultation at around 11am and was given an appointment at 4pm. Saw a doctor who was really nice and easy to talk to. It was a short appointment but he was very thorough and reassuring. I picked up my prescription on the way home, thanks to him contacting the pharmacy immediately. Great service and very much appreciated.

  10. Review titled Disaster GP practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2024

On Friday 5th April I was experiencing shortness of breath and chest pains, I am a pensioner. My previous medical experience included a heart attack and cancer. I presented to Whitehill GP surgery in person at around 10 am. Instead of calling 999 or a doctor appearing to give me an emergency chest examination the receptionist sent me away saying they had no appointments left for that day and I should go to A and E or ring 111. I rang 111 and went to A and E. All the doctors I spoke to at the hospital were horrified at the treatment I recieved at Whitehills. They recommended a change of practice! Thankfully I recieved emergency same day treatment at the hospital. I have many more bad experiences from Whitehills that I could relate but this is the worst.

Dear Patient, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about your experience. We do understand the frustrations felt by patients accessing their local GP surgery and we are working hard to accommodate the increased level of demand. Aylesbury GPs have a close working relationship and regularly meet to discuss local challenges. Each surgery is experiencing challenging and growing strain with declining GP numbers, a significant rise in demand, a struggle to recruit and retain staff and a huge increase in new registrations from local housing developments. Please, also note that the GP surgery is not an emergency service and given the fact of presented symptoms the best advise would have been to call 999 or visit local A&E department. Please, provide us with more details on our email bccg-bucks. whitehillsurgeryadmin@nhs.net and I will investigate this further. Kind regards Nadia IT & Operations Manager Whitehill Surgery
