Review titled Appalling Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 November 2024
I recently tried to contact the surgery just to arrange some blood tests, at 54 I thought it would be pro-active to do this as I’ve not had a cholesterol , blood sugar or PSA test for years. I couldn’t get an answer on the phone at all,so decided to take the day off to go in person. I went to the reception where three staff manned the empty waiting room and I explained what I thought to be responsible behaviour. I was told I would need to see a doctor but there were no appointments, obviously I questioned this to be told we are all very busy you know! When I was asked to explain why I wanted a PSA test I explained my dad had had prostrate cancer so seemed like a necessary step for me. At which point the reception said “ did he die from it….” Incredible statement to make. They added a note to my file and said they would be in touch, guess what? Two weeks later zero contact or response. I cannot stress how bad this surgery has now become, when it opened it seemed to function as it should. My wife has had a similar experience when asking for an appointment and still no contact from the surgery to a request made long before mine. Nothing to do but leave the practice, I would urge anyone else to do the same.

More than three days trying to call them amd they never answer. You just wait on the phone queue till you are the 2-3 one and after that the call is closed without answering. Went there to let an appoinment and they say I should keep calling because they can not let appoinments by their online portal or in person just by phone calling. Totally unuseful and stressin. One of thecrecepsionist even kept laughing when I was talking about my baby condition

Review titled Do Not Register With Whitehouse
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been registered with Whitehouse for 3 years and in the past 12 months they have deteriorated to the point where they are absolutely useless and I have left me feeling my only option for receiving healthcare is to use the Urgent Care Centre. Today, whilst trying to get an appointment, after calling at 8am on the dot (and starting at #9 in the queue) I was hung up on when I reached #2. Obviously by the time I got through again… there were no appointment left. Last month after a hospital admission, I tried to get a follow up appointment, only to be on hold for Four Hours. Four hours of listening to the same hold music over and over I’m suprised I didn’t need a psych referral. And yeah - no appointments. I urge anyone thinking of registering with Whitehouse to seriously reconsider and try elsewhere because you’ll never see a GP here. I have tried contacting their complaints team and after weeks of waiting, still nothing. Do Not Register With Whitehouse

Review titled Terrible system
Rated 1 star out of 5

My mum has a chronic issue meaning we have to come into the surgery at least once every 2 weeks for some sort of appointment. Often she is contacted directly from the GP to book an appointment based on results from previous tests she has done but to do so is honestly impossible. As I’m typing this I’m currently waiting for someone to answer the phones so we can follow up with some recent results she had - I’ve called every morning since Monday and there isn’t even a queue, the phone just rings. Recently, myself, my mum and my sister have all had to call at the same time and even then we weren’t able to get through, I went down to the surgery and was told I can only book an appointment on the phone and that the phones aren’t being prioritised. They then advised me to stay on the line and someone would eventually answer. When I got home I told my mum to stay on the line and she did for over 10 hours until the gp closed at 6 and no one answered Honestly I am shocked that a better system hasn’t been put into place. People’s health isn’t something by to take lightly but it feels like one has to fight just to be seen by a doctor. This is no fault of the staff, ultimately they have to adhere to whatever system they are given but something needs to change. If you are looking for a surgery in MK I’d strongly recommend looking for somewhere that has a more streamlined booking system

Review titled Friendly, understanding useful advice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Colin Blake - Posted on 02 October 2024
Referred to physiotherapist for assessment of tingly fingers and stiff neck. He was very friendly and very easy to talk to. Gave a very good assessment of problems and suggested various courses of treatment and exercise. At end of session I felt very confident that my concerns had been listened to and that suggested course of action would be very beneficial.

Review titled Could it get any worse
Rated 1 star out of 5

There is a history of incompetence with this surgery but I will just describe today's events cause they are not a one off. Received a text to make an appointment to bloods. Phoned to make an appointment only to be on hold for over two hours. Once I was next in queue it rang for 10 minutes and it then disconnected. Phoned back only to now be 21 in queue. Since my first call I was 15th in the queue and that took over two hours, and surgery closed in 40 minutes, I decided to walk down to try to make an appointment. When I got there I was 19th in queue and receptionist was playing on her mobile. I explained the situation and receptionist said they were the only one there and that's why the phone queue was so long. Did not confront about being on person device cause I would not have been able to maintain my polite manner. I was given and appointment for a few weeks time but after 3 hours of my life wasted. Please avoid at all costs.

I was extremely stressed before attending my appointment. The Physiotherapist was so good and relieved my stress to a great extent. His calm way of explaining things and his exercise methods were very helpful. Thank you

Review titled Good Luck Getting Through...
by Stephen - Posted on 19 September 2024
Here's the thing, the staff are nice. However, the way the service is managed is exceptionally poor. My partner and I spend literally hours on the phone trying to speak to someone, and no, that is not an exaggeration from an annoyed reviewer. No bias here, only facts. Sometimes you will get to the front of the phone queue, and then the phone will just ring until eventually the call ends. Then you need to call up again, only to be at the back of the queue, which is honestly crazy. Then you have to wait for another 1.5 - 2 hours. There is absolutely no way this experience is exclusive to us. Why they don't have the ability to request a service online is beyond me. I only call this surgery for my partner, but the surgery I'm with has an online service, which means my message is often seen and responded to on the same day. My time is respected by not having to wait in a queue for hours. Now bear in mind that my partner and I will call at the same time in an attempt to mitigate these issues, which we really should not have to do. This surgery is part of a group, so why do they not have an online service? It doesn't matter how nice the staff are, if you can almost never contact anyone. More recently, my partner was miraculously able to speak to someone. All she needed was a fit/sick note. She was asked to call back tomorrow. She still doesn't have a fit note, and it's been two days, because neither of us can get through! Truly, and objectively an awful service. I am in awe of the series of bad decisions which have led to a service of this calibre. I would be embarrassed if it was me.

Review titled After test Results no Appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5

I recently had a blood test and received a text message asking me to book an appointment. I've called many times, visited the surgery five times, and spent the last two hours on the phone trying to get through. When I first called, I was the 40th person in line, and after two hours of waiting, I was still only number 14. In desperation, I went to the surgery while still on the call, only to be told that all appointments for the next two months are fully booked. I was advised that it's pointless to keep coming in or calling. If the surgery is so overwhelmed, why are they continuing to register more patients? I know someone who lives four miles away in Downs Barn and has been assigned to White House Surgery. There are clearly some serious issues at this surgery that need to be addressed.

Review titled Imposible to get an appointment
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 August 2024
Hi, I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the service I received from your practice. This morning, I called the practice at 8am, as soon as the lines opened, in hopes of securing an appointment. Unfortunately, I was kept on hold for an astonishing 1 hour and 35 minutes before finally getting through to a receptionist. To my dismay, I was then informed that there were no appointments available for today. I understand that GP practices are often very busy and appointments can be limited. However, it is incredibly frustrating and concerning to spend such a significant amount of time on hold only to be told that no appointments are available. This not only wastes patients' time but also causes undue stress, especially for those who are unwell and in need of medical attention. If there is no capacity then don't take new patients. Please advice how this can be sorted.
