  1. Review titled Good care over a long period

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 September 2022

I first consulted the Surgery about possible prostate cancer in 2016 and from then on was steadily monitored – and occasionally prodded into action – by the staff there, with frequent discussions, tests and references to the Royal United Hospital. So while it would have been nice if I had not had prostate cancer at all, I think that with the support of everyone at the Surgery matters have gone forward about as well as I could have wished, up to and including my recent prostatectomy. In short, at the moment it seems that everything was caught well in time and at the moment the likely outcome seems good. I do, however, worry about how I would have got on today in these, more pressured, times. Resources at all medical practices are now spread very thinly and I imagine that it must be difficult for people to devote the time to patients that they would wish. However that is a question for the future and doesn’t take away from the care I’ve received so far.

  2. Review titled A very much appreciated experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would like to echo the previous positive review; I too have recently moved to Bath and have found Widcombe Surgery to be a listening and caring environment. I have received excellent attention and support from a well-organised, friendly team. The quality of medical advice and care is pitched at the right level for me and I feel confident in making the right decisions for my well being. Thanks to all at Widcombe Surgery, you're doing a grand job.

  3. Review titled A good experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had an infection which started quite suddenly, last Tuesday,23 August. I went into the surgery in the afternoon and was greeted by a kind receptionist who suggested that I provide a urine sample there and then. She ensured that the nurse was available to test it and then was able to make a telephone appointment for me with a GP. The Doctor was very thorough and after discussing it prescribed anti-biotics which we collected from the pharmacy within half an hour. By the end of the evening I was feeling much better and by the time I finished the course the infection was gone. I would like to thank all those who helped me that day. Everyone in their different roles, all working together, solved my problem efficiently and effectively. This was a good experience of health care at Widcombe Surgery .
