GP appointment. There was an excellent & clear explanation of the pros & cons of a certain treatment. A very professional practice. Thank you

I chanced upon this review section whilst looking to book an appointment for our son and was so surprised by the negative comments i felt i had to record my own experience. I have always found the the reception team to be helpful and courteous - especially given the pressured nature of the role. The surgery is staffed by wonderful doctors, nurses, physios and receptionists and support staff and I am very grateful to all of them. Great Practice..!!!

Review titled Incredibly Rude Receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5

Partner was discharged from the hospital yesterday after having sepsis. We were told to contact our GP for regular pain medication. This morning, an incredibly rude and dismissive receptionist told us that there were no appointments for a week and that she couldn't be given an urgent telephone appointment even though she was in terrible pain. "Go to a pharmacy" was the suggestion. I appreciate this is a failure of both the hospital and GP office not to prescribe sufficient pain relief. However, there's no need to be so rude and dismissive. There are ways of saying "we can't do anything" without being nasty. We'll be making a formal complaint alongside this review.

Review titled Horrible and very rude receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5

Unfortunately it use to be such a good practice but nowadays it’s absolutely impossible even to get through your GP. It is the receptionist who makes the decision if she can qualify you to speak to your gp. Some receptionist are so so rude and I had been involved in a major accident last week and since I desperately need to speak to my Gp for medication and inhalers; Despite my urgent request; the receptionist been asking me to call at certain when you call; she cannot allow it and asking me to go to hospital or call paramedics. Even I requested just to give a note to my GP; she was so ever rude and practically shouting to me on the phone and just bang the phone. I genuinely believe the Doctors are very good but unfortunately you cannot get permission to see them. I am very appalled by the behaviours of receptionists working in a professional health practice. I feel very shameful after the way the receptionist shouted at me this morning. Even after mentioning I am having recurrent asthma attacks.

Review titled Appalling practice

I have been registered with this practice for 41 years . My regular GP is a very pleasant person and has always been helpful, unfortunately It is impossible to see him . I had a very unpleasant conversation with a receptionist who was downright unhelpful, rude and extremely unpleasant. We are an elderly couple and the last thing we need is a sarcastic rude person when we need to book an appointment. Good phone manners don’t cost much I am seriously looking for another surgery to register with.

Review titled Not a great practice

We went with this GP as it was very close to home but we are extremely disappointed with both the doctors and appointments policy. When you have a small child appointments can’t be really scheduled with 1, 2 or even 3 weeks in advance and to be able to book an emergency one for the same day you have to call exactly at 8am (for morning appointments) or exactly at 1pm (for evening ones). Half an hour later and you are left with a sick infant at home and told try again at 8 am the next working day. And the Doctore, when you manage to go see them are so iritated and treat you like you’re wasting their precious time, and not just a woried first time patent, such a lack of empathy. Of course there are a few nice ones, but don’t always have that luck.

Review titled Disappointing

Sadly my experience with this practise has been consistently negative. A few of the GPs at this practise (not all - some are wonderful) appear to show absolutely no compassion or empathy towards their patients; they act as though we are disturbing their day and being an inconvenience, as opposed to actually being a patient of theirs that they are there to assess/treat/reassure. My overall feedback is that the GPs at this practise should focus a little more on their attitudes towards their patients before anything else. There are times when I have opted to go to Walk In centres rather than go to my own GP at this practise because of such negative experiences. One word: disappointing!
