At last system that worked for me.Completed the appointment for online and got allocated an appointment within in an hour. The only criticism I have is that we do not know which doctors in the surgery,I say this because sometimes I like to see a Pacific doctor.Thank you.

Im not one to pester doctors as i do t want to waste their time but after a call to 111 and a hospital trip with codine bloods urine sample and ct scan to be told to go to my gp for them to arrange an ultra sound at the hospital due to incredible pain, no pain killers where give to bring home and doctors have no appointment to deal with it a month later still can get an appointment feel like I'm suffering and nothing is to be done about it like a roundabout never ends.

  3. Review titled Great Practice?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 March 2023

Really? So it takes less that an hour on the phone waiting for someone to pick up - really? When you do get through, you are treated with respect and your enquiry given the urgency that an hour's waiting required. Really? You're treated like you actually matter and not a member of the herd, and they would not prefer you to go elsewhere. Are you seriously having a joke? Please......

  4. Review titled Appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Impossible to get a appointment, receptionist's do there upmost to make it impossible to get a appointment. This Drs surgery was bad anyways but now it's just a joke. When you do get seen you get sent to A&E for something that should of been sorted out by the surgery. The A&E staff at the Alexandra hospital even have jokes about how Winyates just sends there patients to them. Need a proper appointment where I can actually sit down and speak to a Dr not a 15minute you can only talk to us about the one problem appointment. Absolute joke of a practice. Time to look elsewhere even if means having to travel.

  5. Review titled Awful Practise - Left Without Medication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Stephen - Posted on 22 March 2023

It used to be a fantastic surgery but has seriously decreased over the years. As I can't do things at precisely 8 am or 8.30 am, I've been without medication for 2 weeks. I've tried talking rationally to them but the receptionists and nurses really do not care about real life and I feel they have no empathy at all for their patients. If you can get to see a doctor (even about a life-long, life-threatening illness) they are fantastic. With an overstretched A&E department in Redditch I will end up having to go there as an emergency at some point. I know that and sadly so does Winyates Health Centre, but they have actually said to that "it is up to me".

  6. Review titled Ridiculous

Rated 1 star out of 5

This place is beyond words. No systems in place, constantly fobbed off with pathetic excuses. I've debelitating health issues which were ignored. GPS and whole service here have become so lazy since COVID. Wouldn't surprise me if this place gets sued

  8. Review titled Amazed this practice is still open...

Rated 1 star out of 5

I've been with Winyates Health Centre my entire life and have learnt to live with the poor service / long wait times at this surgery for the past few years. I have now come to realise its time to reluctantly move to another GP. Its got to the point where I regularly wait 1 hour to speak to the front desk for an appointment. This morning it was 1 hour 20 mins! Is there any reason why you cant have extra phones and staff on a morning shift to deal with these calls? Even when you eventually get through, there are no appointments available and they only offer same day appointments, no appointments bookable for a later date. Id quite happily book an appointment online, but there is no offering of appointments for services such as Asthma clinic, even though it is a service at the surgery.... I've recently found myself skipping reviews due to the difficulties in booking. I recently found out I'd been incorrectly prescribed a child's dose for several years resulting in some difficulties controlling the asthma. If you were to run a private business in this way, it would not be sustainable. I would suggest any new patients looking to join the surgery look elsewhere. This comes from someone with so many positive experiences of the surgery in the past and can see the place has collapsed under poor management / funding. I wont be wasting my time sending a complaint as you've quite clearly not dealt with anyone else concerns as these problems are escalating.

Good afternoon, Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry that you have been unable to book an appointment. Due to the current pressures that the entire NHS is facing, we are struggling to meet demand. This is not just at Winyates, it is across the country and has also recently been shown in the media. We are in no doubt that this is not good enough, but we are doing our absolute best under the circumstances. We do have a mixture of routine and urgent appointments available every day. If your condition is more urgent, please do let our healthcare navigators know. We do also have a callback service where you can press the option for us to call you back once you reach the front of the queue to save you holding. Once again, I am very sorry that you are not satisfied with our service. We are always reviewing our services as well as patient feedback to make improvements. Kind regards Claire Practice Manager

Everyone at Winyates HC is kind, friendly and caring. In the current climate, I have great respect for all the staff, and particularly for the GP taking care of me! Keep going with the brilliant things you all do, hard as it is right now. You are very much appreciated.

  10. Review titled Had a letter from the surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 January 2023

I rang the Dr's 8.30 was 33 in the que. When I did get through I was told all the appointments had gone and had to phone the next day. So the next day I thought I would get the bus up there 8.30am instead of ringing I got there I was 22 in the que. I waited for the receptionist to call me I was having pains in my chest and finding it hard to breath. My heart rate was above 110 bpm. There was another que waiting to get a number but myself and other patients noticed they wasn't given a number. But was given a appointment for that day. A man was given appointment because he had ear ache at 10.10 am. I went to the receptionist and had a disagreement. About why do we need a ticket. I got appointment at 2.10pm.i was told the Dr thought I was having a heart attack and had to go straight to the hospital. I had infection in my lungs. Few day later I received a letter from the Dr's. About the way I was at the surgery. I no the demands are high and they must follow procedures. Well she wasn't following procedures that day. But given out appointments when she wanted. I am not appreciate having a letter when I was not in the wrong.

Good afternoon Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you were not satisfied when you visited the surgery. Our receptionists are following a strict protocol written by a GP. Of course, chest pain is a red flag symptom and isn't something that would be ignored. If you wish to complain, please contact the surgery directly and we will be able to look into the exact details for you. Many thanks. Claire Practice Manager
