Review titled Worst receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 March 2025
9:44 5th of March phone call back Absolutely worst receptionist that ever spoken to , doesn’t allow me to mention any names but they definitely need to look into, she is not listening to you she just wants to get rid of you over the phone immediately. Absolutely horrible approach from her side she thinks that I don’t remember her voice and even tries to say why do you want to know my name when you ask her over the phone so you can’t make a complaint to the supervisor there. Had booked e consult and wanted to see a doctor because I have other appointments for these two days and my son situation is getting worse. She shouldn’t work in the practice. Take precautions and listen to all her conversations with the people have no clue of her behaviour.

Review titled Impressed by GP innovation
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 March 2025
During a recent face to face consultation I was asked if Heidi auto transcription could be used. This meant the GP didn’t have to spend time typing notes and so the consultation was in my opinion much more meaningful. The GP could give me full attention. I would encourage anyone to accept using this.

Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 February 2025
Called 4 times for an appointment in the last month. Ongoing cough, ongoing congestion, new onset rash. Unable to pre book an appointment which I think is ludicrous. Every time told to ring at 8am for an appt and always 50th in queue. When able to speak to someone from reception they said all appts have been taken and to call back tomorrow. Unfortunately this is just not good enough. Avoid at all costs. Terrible customer service and terrible way to run a surgery.

Dear Patient I am sorry that when you contacted the surgery you could not be offered an appointment. We are currently experiencing increased demand on our services and only have a limited number of appointments available. Unfortunately we are not able to offer above this limited demand as we must ensure patient safety. Please be assured our clinicians are working to their full capacity and new appointments are available daily. Kind regards Kelly Patient Experience Team

Review titled Booking being cancelled repeatedly for no reason
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by CWY - Posted on 06 February 2025
I went to make a doctor appointment at the GP and the receptionist confirmed me that I have been booked in at end of November 2024. However, when I attended the GP, the same receptionist told me that she could not see my appointment record and the relevant time slot was indeed occupied by someone else. She knew that she made a mistake and asked the doctor if she could see me immediately. This is the first incident. The same thing happened yesterday. This time I received text message on 4 February 2025 confirming me the smear test appointment on 5 February 2025. When I attended the GP, I could not checked in by using the screen (I noted that some other patients also had the same problem). Hence, I proceeded to check in at the reception counter. The lady told me my appointment had been cancelled for no reason. I told her that I received a confirmation by text message on 4 February 2025. Another colleague of her then came out trying to help and confirmed me that everything was fixed now and I could go to first floor to wait for my turn. I had arrived at the GP at about 8:45 am for my appointment at 9:20am. However, no one called my name until 9:20 am. At that time I thought the cytology nurse may be with someone so she needed more time. At 9:45 am, I went to the reception and reported to them of the same. However, I was then told that I was the one at fault as I did not attend the appointment. I told her that (the same receptionist) she was the one who checked me in and asked me to wait at the first floor. I had been waiting for more than an hour since I arrived at 8:45 am. Some other receptionists then came out and told me that the cytology nurse was fully booked today as I was late and asked me to rebook!!! I insisted that I had been waiting after they checked me in at the reception for more than an hour!!! Finally they asked me if I would take up 11:20am time slot on the same date. They said if I refused, I just left the GP and rebooked!!! I asked if they could check with the cytology nurse to see if I could be seen earlier but the answer was negative. So I had to wait there for another 1.5 hours to see the cytology nurse. When I saw the cytology nurse she said I did not attend 9:20 am appointment so they needed to rebook me (probably she heard one side of story from the receptionist(s)). I feel deeply wronged by the GP's staff's wrongful accusations on me as a patient and I felt so stress off to handle the impolite treatments by them. The GP should disclose the CCTV to verify who's telling a lie.

Review titled No reply within the 48hours from econsult
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Wendy - Posted on 28 February 2025
Despite being asked to submit an econsult by the reception team, after the required 48hour wait I’ve not been contacted by the surgery by any method by 18.30 on a Friday evening. I will be chasing this up however I now have to wait till Monday morning to do this when the surgery opens again.

Review titled Extremely rude reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 February 2025
Had to call 111 as have been trying for almost a month to get an appointment with the GP however they were unable to offer one as no appointments available. We called 111 and after triage, they decided we needed to speak to the on-call doctor within an hour. The on-call doctor assessed me and concluded I needed an urgent appointment with the GP for a physical review and urgent blood tests. He emailed the GP surgery who was told to get in contact with us in the morning of the following day. We did not hear from the GP surgery to book this appointment in. At midday we called the GP surgery and spoke to very rude and abrupt reception staff. She voiced that we should have been given an appointment in the morning, however, obviously this is not the case. We asked her if there were any appointments available this afternoon and originally said no, when we push for an appointment, she went away and spoke to the Doctor who eventually offered an appointment. Unfortunately,we were unable to attend due to it being so short notice (within the hour) bearing in mind I had taken the morning off work as was expecting an appointment. We asked if there was any other available slots later in the day. She went away again as she needed to check with the GP. When she called back, she offered us an appointment time more suitable however her attitude was very poor and we felt as if we were causing her a massive problem by asking for an alternative time and felt like a burden and a hindrance to her day. It has taken four weeks to get an appointment with a GP at Wokingham medical Centre and this is totally unacceptable. I think the way Wokingham medical Centre book their appointments is totally inefficient as you are unable to pre-book an appointment. You have to call at 8 am only to be 60th in the queue of people waiting. When you get to the front of the queue, there are no appointments left with the GP. Wokingham medical Centre should learn some lesson from Finchampstead surgery which is one of the best GP surgeries around. You are always offered an appointment. The reception staff are lovely and always happy to help and you never feel like a burden. This however, is note the case when dealing with Wokingham medical Centre. Very, very poor. If I was able to go to a different GP surgery, I would jump at the chance.

Review titled Painless Cervical screening
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2025
Women of a certain age struggle with these screenings due to changes in the vagina, the locum nurse who did mine today was absolutely amazing, I’ve dreaded the last few, but she managed to do it with ease, no pain and no soreness after, certainly made me feel Better about future ones

Review titled IT disaster
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Pamela - Posted on 15 January 2025
my surgery was merged with wokingham medical centre, I have continued to use repeat prescriptions since the IT merger without any issues, I ran out of my medication, my mistake but I had been ill. When I used the same form that I have used for the last 4 years unbeknown to me it was sent to a different surgery, when i tried to collect at the pharmacy it obviously was not there. That night I sent through another one and have the same issue of being sent to another surgery. They have now contacted me to say Im not registered there, ive never even heard of them. I reported the problem with the IT only to be told there is nothing they can do. I asked what I do in the future, do I have to put my prescription in 3 weeks in advance, to be told it only takes 3 days, well i'm sorry but obviously it does not as your forms are going elsewhere. The only reason my GP now has it is because the pharmacy sent one through. Ive now had no medication for 2 weeks and am relying on what I have managed to get online, goodness knows what that contains. How do I proceed in the future? when I called I was told I have to call each time, I stated I wanted to do it online but was told I have to call and speak to the pharmacy team but they dont work evenings.

Review titled Smear test
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 August 2024
I have just been to have my smear test with a nurse. She was absolutely brilliant so friendly and helpful. I know a lot of people are scared to have this done and think it hurts but it doesn't. It's a few minutes out of your day that can make sure you have more days to come. Get tested girls
