    Contacted the surgery 3/1/23 through ask my gp. To request a prescription for my daughter for an excema cream she had used before as she had a flare up and her hands had become quite sore. I received a message back stating this request had been passed to a clinician. 4.45 same day I had heard nothing further so decided to ring the practice, I was told that the request had not been actioned so the receptionist did this for me. The next day I had a phone call but had to call them back, I was told I would have to have a phone consultation for the prescription which was fine so an appointment was booked for the following Tuesday 10/01/23. I waited all day with my phone close by for the call, I did not receive a call. So the next morning I rang the surgery to see why I had been missed. I was told that they had tried to call 3 times, they definitely did not I had my phone with me all day waiting for the call. I asked what could be done to sort this out today as she has now been waiting over a week for the excema cream her hands becoming worse each day. Another phone consultation could be booked for next week. What this was very disappointing and upsetting I need something doing before next week, all I can offer is a consultation for next week she said. I replied well I will have to book her in for a on the day appointment tomorrow then i said which in my opinion is unnecessary for a prescription of something she has previously been prescribed. If that's what you want to do, then do that then was the reply. Now I find this absolutely disgraceful, disappointing and upsetting. No wonder people are turning to accident and emergency overcrowding hospitals. This is a huge problem surgeries need to get back to how they were before the pandemic, expecting someone to wait over 2 weeks for a simple prescription is disgusting, sort yourself out. Julie Smith

    Dear M/s Smith, Thank you for taking the time to discuss your above comment on the phone, as I said I am very sorry you were disappointed in our services, our practice policy is that we are unable to prescribe a medication that hasn’t been prescribed within the past year for fear of issuing incorrect treatment, I totally understand how frustrating this can be. Hopefully now your daughter has had an appointment she will be better soon. Kind regards Julia – Practice Manager
