Review titled Extremely rude receptionist
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Bill Pogson - Posted on 07 October 2024
I called today to enquire if I could register at the practise. I tried to start the call by explaining that I live on a yacht in the Caribbean but frequently visit my sister in Mayfield. I got four words out ie: I live on a yacht — when the receptionist cut me off and said well I can tell you, you cannot register here because there is no water in our catchment area! I tied again to explain and she repeatedly cut me off and told ME not to interrupt!! When eventually she shut up I managed to explain my situation and she answered ‘Well if that’s the case you could have registered but you should have explained that straight away and not started by saying you live on a yacht. And then she said, in a loud voice ‘goodbye’ and slammed the phone down. This left me extremely upset and agitated, I cannot ever recall being treated like that

Review titled Rude receptionist

I recently filled in a form to join the surgery, only be be told I’m not in the catchment area when taking the form in. I’m not sure why I was told this when the NHS website says I am? I was told to try heathfield surgery, which I already had and they’re not taking on new patients. The receptionist was extremely rude. She had an attitude and said heathfield are taking on. Why lie? When I only spoke to heathfield surgery a couple of days ago.

Dear Anonymous. I am sorry to read of your experience and that the service we provided did not meet your expectations. Our Patient Services Manager is available to discuss this matter and I would encourage you to contact the surgery in order that we can resolve this matter for you. NHS Choices does not advise practice catchment areas but this is available on our website. Andrew Cornell – Managing Partner

Review titled Quick appointments but no-nonsense doctors.
Rated 3 stars out of 5

It’s extremely quick and easy to get through to this surgery and you are usually offered an appointment on the same day. That’s incredible these days and something to be grateful for. We’ve seen two different doctors so far, however, and they’ve both been quite curt and abrupt. I suppose that’s a sign of the pressure they’re under nowadays but it does make one feel like a nuisance.

Review titled Avoid if you need 3m prescriptions
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 July 2023
Having recently moved GP practices, this practice has a policy of not issuing prescriptions for 3 months like I was getting at my last GP Practice for a long term condition. I tried to get a GP appointment about this matter but the receptionist refused to give me an apointment which is strange as they aren't medically qualified to decide this question.

I am sorry to read of your experience. There are very strict guidelines regarding prescribing and I would suggest you call reception and ask to make an appointment with our Clinical Pharmacist to discuss your specific issue. Many thanks Andrew Cornell - Practice Manager
