  1. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Staff member went above and beyond to deal with my query within appointment time. This enabled me to avoid taking further blood test, when one was able to cover lots of blood related health questions

I have just moved into the area and had to see the nurse and Dr. What a positive experience in both cases. Didn't feel rushed at all. Keep up the good work. Oh and the Dr had the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen lol

  3. Review titled Awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ash - Posted on 09 July 2024

I was referred here for a physio appointment. No reception staff on so I sat and waited as it currently hurts for me to stand. Notice on the reception window advised to ring for assistance but as I was 7 mins early for an appointment and could hear the rooms were in use I waited. My appointment time came and 5 mins later the client before me came from the treatment room. I assumed it wouldn't be long before I would be seen. 4 minutes later at 17:19, my appointment at 17:10 a member of staff asked me if I had checked in. I advised I hadn't as nobody had been present. He then aggressively asked if I had an appointment which I advised I was here to see the physio. He said I had to check in and I should have rung the bell. And now I wouldn't be able to have a full appointment as it was 10 mins past my appointment slot. Given the pain I was in and the brusque and aggressive manner in which this was explained to me and the fact the previous session had only finished less than 5 mins ago I find this laughable. I refuse to be spoken to in the manner of which the practice colleague spoke to me and left the surgery. Given this was an appointment I was already nervous about the quality of care and the manner in which I was spoken to was disgraceful.

Hello Ash, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you have had a negative experience at our surgery. It is important to check-in for appointments so that our staff know you are waiting and to keep clinics running on time, this is for the benefit of all our patients. The patient that you saw leaving the surgery could have been from a different clinic as we have multiple clinics running simultaneously. I am sorry if your appointment had to be cut short and I hope you have re booked if needed. I am also sorry that you feel our reception staff behaved in a brusque and aggressive manner, please contact me directly if you wish to discuss this further. Kind regards Rebecca Ryan Operations Manager On Behalf of Woodhouse Hill Surgery 01484 533833 admin.woodhousehill@nhs.net

  5. Review titled Diabolical

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Jaswinder Atwal - Posted on 17 July 2024

All my medication was stopped due to a medication review to take place. From past rexperiences dealing with these reviews, no one calls or the timing or date have always changed. My last medication prescription from this practice was on the 24th May, i also advised i was going away on holiday on 24th June and return on the 15th of July. I informed the practice i needed these, however after calling the chemist was advised by them nothing has been issued. I went on my holiday with only what i had left of my prescription, when i had run out of metformin. I had to see a doctor there i had to make a private appointment what cost $80 and for the medicine additonal cost of $33.49 which could have been easily avoided, if i had been given my medication to take with me. On my return i called on Monday 15th July spoke to reception, was advised that i had a medical review. In which i replied i know, however i have no medication left, then to be told ok they will issue it, it will take 3 days. Today on Wednesday i called the chemist, to be told nothing recieved, so i called the practice again, telling me i need a medical review. To me it seems like one says one thing and ring again next day or so another says something different. Also previously i asked for the following, GlucoRx Nexus Test Strips for my blood glucose monitoring. To be told i have not got them from this practice. In which i replied that i had been given loads from my previous practice and i have run out, i was then told buy the reception i will get them. No surprise did not arrive, i am paying for them online when i should be getting them free!!!

I haven't been to a GP in decades, so was feeling anxious. The doctor quickly put me at ease and was very friendly, professional and considerate. I've only just joined this practice but I've been most impressed with all staff I've met so far.

  10. Review titled Fantastic new service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michelle - Posted on 02 May 2024

I went to see the mental health practitioner which is a trial service here and it was such a great experience. I wasn’t rushed, i felt truly heard and that progress with my condition would be made. I can’t thank this mental health practitioner enough! The reception staff also helped me a lot with explaining how to find proof of illness that my daughters’ schools demanded and this person was really caring when I was extremely upset. They even rang me later the same day when a cancellation came up so that I could be seen earlier. It’s not always easy queuing for an appointment but that’s not their fault and they’re always very understanding about frustrations around this. They advise well what can be done to help. They listen well and always offer solutions. When I have been to the last 5 appointments, they have been exactly on time and I have felt well cared for. It was also lovely to see one doctor training and encouraging some junior doctors who were doing a great job as a result! Thank you to everyone at this surgery for a great experience so far. I appreciate you all.
