My recent experience at surgery was very pleasant, the reception staff were polite and helpful on the phone and again in person. The Dr was very kind, she made me feel at ease and didn’t make me feel rushed.

Witnessed this lovely admin staff helping an elderly gentleman with getting online to order medication. She was extremely patient, kind and compassionate. She reassured said gentleman that if he ever needed help, it was available. It was great witnessing such care, as often our elderly society goes unnoticed. Her gentle manner really touched me and I'm sure even more so, the gentleman. Well done!

Most of the times when I call they say they ran out of appointments even when I call at 8:30.Some of the doctors have an attitude and they don’t treat you correctly and tell you to go emergency services even tho it’s a GP matter.Some of the reception staff are unhelpful.This has been going on for a while.

This surgery has been my mothers registered surgery for the past 3 months. In that time my mother has not once received a face to face visit despite numerous concerns raised by her Care Home. The Care Home that she is resident in offers excellent care and staff from Kirkwood Hospice and the local District Nurses are efficient and timely. However, whenever the doctor needs to sign off on medications this takes up to a week. This is not satisfactory as my mother has limited time left and is paralysed in bed suffering from continuous and increasing pain. All other organisations involved have to chase up the Surgery in order for them to complete a simple task.

I am sorry to hear of your experience. It must be a difficult time for you given your mother’s illness and I am sorry you feel the care provided was not adequate. I cannot go into great detail online, but when we have reviewed the medication requests you refer to, all were actioned on the same day by the practice - I believe the delay was due to the care home using a distant pharmacy which I believe has now been resolved - the care home had also been emailing urgent requests when the protocol is that these should be phoned through to avoid any delay (something we will remind them off) - I believe the GP also discussed this matter with you during a recent visit to the care home to see your mother a couple of weeks ago. There is more structure and an appearance of greater professionalism now within the practice. The changes indicate that someone was willing to invest necessary time and money into the surgery. It helps.

I managed to get a same day appointment, the doctor I saw was empathetic and helped me immediately. When I ring the staff always help as much as they can

I have always had a great experience at Woodhouse Hill Surgery. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The doctor's I have seen have listened properly to my concerns and provided the best possible care. I have always been able get a same day appointment. I've had quite a few problems lately so I have spent quite a lot of time at the surgery and can't recommend them enough. Brilliant.
