  1. Review titled Do not sign up

Rated 1 star out of 5

I signed up for this practice because I felt my last GP did not meet the standards I would expect. I signed up with this GP and they never ever Informed me that I was taken on as a patient until I went to make an appointment with my previous GP and they told me I was no longer on the system, however I went on to inform the woolwell practice about this and I also booked 2 appointment on line one for my injection and another regarding having a follow up about possible prostate cancer. I received a text to say some one would call me on a set date and nobody bothered. If this is the future of local GP services then we are absolutely doomed

Dear Mark Thank you for your comments and you will understand that I cannot comment on individuals or individual cases in an open forum. As a general comment if a patients submits a registration form in whatever format at any surgery that is processed as soon as possible usually in a few days and the process to remove you from the old surgery happens at the same time. I will check to see if that needs to be made clearer to new patients signing up. If we missed a call to you then I can only apologise, it is a rare occurrence and I hope all issues have now been dealt with. Yours sincerely Chris Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Total lack of support

Rated 1 star out of 5

I cannot believe how the quality of support has deteriotated at this practise ! Trying to get an appointment is a nightmare and my wife who is under the Cardiologist at Derriford can't even get prescriptions approved by the GP when the specialist writes to the GP recommending the new medication.

Dear Anon Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry you feel the support you have received has been lacking recently. We have an increase in patient numbers and large increase in demand with little increase in resource to deal with it. We like more surgeries triage and see the most urgent first which unfortunately means more routine or less urgent needs take much longer. Something we to wish wasn't the case and we can only apologise. With regards to prescriptions from hospitals, we unfortunately often get inappropriate work passed onto us that we are unable to complete due to contractual or safety issues. The unfortunate side effect is that the patient is often left stuck in the middle. We do what we can to avoid this but sometimes we are left with no choice. If the issue is still outstanding please do ask your wife to contact directly and we can look at the specific case. Yours sincerely Chris Practice Manager
