  1. Review titled An overall inclusive experience-Well Done!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mr Sam Yovan - Posted on 04 January 2025

I have been facing significant health challenges over the past three years, and during a recent visit, I had the opportunity to consult with a GP at Wychbury Medical Practice. The care I received was exemplary. The Doctor demonstrated genuine compassion, empathy, and professionalism throughout the consultation. Our conversation was held in a private and highly confidential manner within a comfortable room, despite the cold morning. While explaining my blood test results, she attentively listened to all our concerns, making us feel heard and understood. At no point did the appointment feel rushed. Although this appointment was initially scheduled to discuss blood test results, I mentioned a new symptom during the consultation. The GP not only acknowledged it but also conducted a mini examination offering assurance . This was a refreshing experience compared to previous consultations where I had been asked to book separate appointments to address additional concerns. Her approach made us feel valued and helped build an excellent rapport. Her calm and composed demeanor alleviated my anxiety and made both my wife and me feel at ease. We were able to discuss all our concerns without hesitation. The GP also took the time to offer options and suggestions when expressing her views, fostering a sense of inclusiveness and collaboration in managing my health. Beyond the medical discussion, she engaged with us on a personal level, asking about our children and even discussing how they might need to be tested for certain conditions. This approach helped us address additional questions in a natural and relaxed manner. Throughout the consultation, we were treated with the utmost respect and dignity, which stood in stark contrast to some past experiences where appointments felt rushed or overly time-restricted. The reception staff also contributed to this positive experience. The receptionist who called to book the appointment was polite and clearly explained the reason for the booking. On the day of the visit, the receptionist greeted us with a warm smile and a welcoming attitude, ensuring the experience felt inclusive and professional. My only slight suggestion for improvement relates to the seating arrangements in the waiting area and consultation rooms. As someone with chronic neck back pain, I found the seating in the waiting area uncomfortable due to the lack of higher chairs with proper back support. Similarly, a swivel chair in the consultation room could enable easier movement for both the doctor and patient during examinations. I also found it challenging to move the chair forward manually, as my leg strength and hand grip are affected by due to a medical condition. Overall, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the GP and the entire Wychbury team for providing such a positive and inclusive healthcare experience. Thank you Wychbury team.

  2. Review titled Top notch care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mark - Posted on 16 September 2024

Having been thrown from a horse and suffering rib and shoulder damage, I phoned and got appointment the same day (receptionist was kind and sympathetic) I saw a fabulous Dr who I apparently cannot name in the review. However he immediately explained all the issues and even rang Russell's Hall hospital in front of me to expedite the process. The doctor who treated me was a credit to his profession.

  3. Review titled Brilliant nurse

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Mrs Jennifer Horton - Posted on 04 March 2024

Had a diabetic review with the practice nurse today. She was thorough, professional, friendly and treated me like an actual person, she spoke to me face to face instead of staring at the monitor, she listened to me and had some great ideas and advice about my condition and care. This nurse is an asset to this practice.

  5. Review titled Awful receptionists

Rated 1 star out of 5

Twice I have rang now about my 6 week old vomiting, last week I was told there was no appointments so ended up going to a and e to wait 7 hours to then be told he has congestion and a doctor should’ve seen him. I ring today to be told come in at 10.15 (it’s 10.05 am) I live 4 miles away and asked if they had anything after 2 was told rudely no I can’t be booked onto a sit and wait for half 2 as there’s still sit and waits for 10.15 surely a sit and wait is just that, so here I go again to take up another space in a and e again

I'm sorry to hear about your experience when contacting the practice for an appointment. We do have an emergency duty doctor working every day for anything urgent. You said that you were offered an appointment and I can understand your frustration if you were told to arrive at 10.15 when it was already 10.05. We do ask staff to book the morning appointments first, but I would have expected that they would take into account that you were 4 miles away and apologise for this. If you would like me to look into your concerns further, please contact me at sarah.reid1@nhs.net. Kind regards Sarah Reid, Practice Manager

  7. Review titled Good practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Pam Glaze - Posted on 27 September 2023

I had my flu jab on 26th September 2023 at Cradley Road Surgery. Lovely Nurse , she was very pleasant. However, two things , first of all, she did not confirm my name or date of birth. Then, when I enquired about my Covid jab, she said I was not eligible. I was puzzled because I am 70 and have a serious heart condition. I said I thought I was eligible, but she insisted I was not at the moment. When I got home I contacted the surgery to check, and was told that I am indeed eligible , as all adults over 65 can have the jab. I also checked the. NHS guidelines. I would have thought all staff should be aware of the guidelines, as this can lead to misinformation. Perhaps there is a training need. I have my appointment for the Covid jab all sorted now. I must say, everyone at all sites have always been very helpful, as have the Gp’s.

  8. Review titled Very impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would just like to say how impressed I was yesterday. I rang your practice up at 12.30pm after finding my 88year old mom very poorly & you getting her an appointment for 2.10pm . What a pleasant surprise when the lady on the phone listened to my problem & used her common sense to get my mom an appointment so soon & seeing a lovely doctor who hopefully has treated my mom & stopped a visit to A&E! Thankyou Jayne Evans

Wanted to say thank you. I phoned up in the morning, I was in a queue but waited patiently Spoke to a lovely lady on reception after explained my problem she arranged a face to face appt with Senior Practice nurse at one of the surgeries for that very morning. 2 hours later I had been seen and tests completed, I was called with the results a couple of dayys later. Support and guidance given. I want to thank all the staff, people are very quick to critise and less likely to praise, but credit where credit was due. Thank you and keep up the good work it is very.much appreciated.
