  1. Review titled Marvellous Ambulance men.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by marie lord - Posted on 30 November 2024

On Friday 29th of November I had to ring for an ambulance for my sister, she had had fallen off her bed and was unable to get up even with my help. the two ambulance men were kindness itself, checking all the medical readings for my sister and advising my sister she needed to go to hospital. I cannot recommend the North West ambulance men to highly their knowledge and help was so reassuring. We are blessed to have such wonderful caring people.

  3. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rita Santamera - Posted on 29 July 2024

I was picked up at Flat 1, 12 duke street, liverpool l1 5ga on thursday 25th July by ambulance called for from my doctor at ropewalks, argyle street. dawn and wendy were the team that helped me get ready to go into hospital. They were lovely, very gentle and understanding. They were like a comfy blanket around me. I was feeling very unwell and they made me feel less anxious, they were very professional and efficient in their manner. I couldn't praise them high enough, I was so grateful to them and want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. Please pass on my respect and thanks to them both. They are stars to be sure. Once again a huge thank you. Marguerita Santamera.

I've never had to be treated by paramedics before and I was slightly upset and worried. The team were amazingly responsive and so friendly and caring. I was made to feel at ease and they were both extremely professional. Thank you for looking after me.

  6. Review titled Superb attention from ambulance paramedics. Broken Hip.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rod Hollick - Posted on 21 May 2024

Upon calling for an ambulance following a fall suffered by my 79 year old wife, it arrived literally within minutes! The service that was subsequently provided by the two paramedics involved, was literally world class. So very considerate, so very caring. Both paramedics are superb ambassadors for the NHS and after specifically asking them for their names during our journey to hospital, I’m extremely disappointed that I’m not permitted to reveal them here. Such superstars!

  7. Review titled Left in agony coz of Eid

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Annoyed and in pain - Posted on 10 April 2024

I was told I had to wait over 3 hours in agony waiting due to ‘not enough drivers because of Eid’. I’m not religious so why is it cussing me agony. Sort your staff to fit the local demographic and disabilities. I’m in agony and love over an hour away and rely on this service. Shocking. And tbh discrimination against non religious people.

  9. Review titled Patient Transport Information Out Of Date

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ally - Posted on 23 March 2024

I have been trying to navigate the nwas Patient Transport System. Firstly, information on the nwas website is out of date, especially the telephone number for Bolton bookings. You call the number listed, and it is a recorded message telling you to phone another Bolton number. I then call Bolton, who tell me as my appointment is a weekend, they cannot book transport, and give me another nwas number to call, stating that when they have booked transport for weekends before, it often fails to arrive. Prior to calling Bolton, I called the Manchester numbers because I did not know who to call, living in one town, and having my appointment in another town, again there is no real information on the nwas website stating which route to take. I eventually get through to someone on a main number, who tells me they do not book patient transport for weekend appointments, it is only booked for cancer and dialysis patients. I tried to explain, I was told I could book transport through this number, but the man I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. So, according to the hospital PALS I am attending, I can’t claim back my travel costs (a taxi) through the NHS Travel Cost Scheme, as no-one wants to fund it despite this being against the government guidance for the NHS Travel Cost Scheme, and I can’t get nwas Patient Transport to provide weekend travel, so just what am I supposed to do. I have already forked out £50 for a return taxi once, and I now must go back for a further appointment. Not everyone has family, or friends who can take them or accompanied them to appointments, and I cannot use public transport to get to a hospital 18-miles away. I am unable to write nwas in capitals for this review.

  10. Review titled Fabulous driver

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue Holt - Posted on 19 March 2024

Picked up from my mums care home in Upholland the driver was courteous and on time. Took us to Fairfield Hospital for 9:30. We only waited 5 minutes after our appointment to be collected at 10:15 am. He put my mum at ease who has dementia. I wish I could name him. Please publish my review so that he can see it. His initials are tt. Well done ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
