Review titled Unacceptable!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 April 2023
Left me waiting hours in considerable pain caused by a chronic condition which I suffer with. When they finally arrived after many hours, they did very little. I was dizzy, in pain and suffering with a series of panic attacks. They did very basic checks and showed no compassion when I tried to explain my circumstances, no reassurance and nothing to take my mind off my panic attacks/pain. Lack of empathy and long silences as they just tapped at their iPads and then instead of doing much else, one of them decided to watch my TV instead. Totally disinterested and bored and lacked any real empathy. I was made to feel like a complete waste of their time. Most paramedics are kind and do show real empathy and kindness but unfortunately this wasn’t the case on this occasion. My chronic condition was obviously a boring job for them and they’d clearly rather be out picking up people who drink to excess and/or take illicit substances and end up in a state because of it. I suffered for ages before I asked for help. I ended up worse off, back at square one, suffered more panic attacks, didn’t sleep and was sick through the night. Next time I’ll suffer in silence rather than be made to feel like a fool for simply asking for help. I explained my history fully and the fact I’m under the consultant at the hospital for my condition but I was ignored. It may not be a popular opinion to say anything negative about the ambulance service but unfortunately my experience has been extremely negative and something has to be said about it. I would be very reluctant to have them attend my home again as I’ve been left very anxious and upset by the whole situation.

requested ambulance assistance for my husband, who had issues with being non responsive and his blood pressure was high, they advised that they would need to take him to hospital to get this checked out, the ambulance crew were very attentive at all times, thank you, fortunately the blood pressure was the cause and he is waiting discharge,

Review titled They literally saved my life
by AnnD54 - Posted on 16 March 2023
I had arrived at a hotel where I was going to spend the night before flying. I arrived there totally breathless and unable to walk. There was immediate response from ambulance service, which took me straight to A&E at Redhill. Lots of tests were carried out immediately and even a Cat scan on my lungs, showing blood clots on the lungs. I stayed in 4 nights and was looked after by capable hands. I cannot fault any of the staff. They literally saved my life. A massive thank you to everyone who helped me. I know it's your job, but you made me feel reassured for the whole time I spent with you.

Review titled Outstanding!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sharon S - Posted on 09 January 2023
On Tuesday 3rd Jan I had to call 111 and an ambulance was arranged to attend my 85year old father who was having difficulty breathing. They were so quick in getting to us and absolutely amazing when they came in to help him. We were anxious and concerned for Dad but throughout their time with us they treated Dad with the utmost respect, were kind, friendly and reassuring. They had to ask lots of questions and waited patiently whilst Dad answered them and they talked both Dad and us through what they were doing which helped reassure us all. Dad had to be taken to hospital and we were unable to go with him as they needed to isolate him in case of covid but again they reassured both Dad and the family. We can’t thank them enough for the care they gave him and in getting him to hospital for treatment as quickly as possible. They were our heroes! Also the lady whom I spoke to at 111 was amazing too. Thank you so much.

Review titled Being ill on your own is an awful feeling
by Bid911 - Posted on 31 January 2023
Became unwell while out at a concert. I felt worse the next day and only in the evening begin to realise I had a severe UTI. Terrible night. My husband died in August and being ill on your own is an awful feeling. So it took me several hours to decide to call 111. Very kind chap took my call at 07.30. I was called an hour later by the urgent treatment centre and picked up my antibiotics at 10.00. Today I feel absolutely back to normal!! I can't tell you how grateful I am. I felt so so ill. Thank you all.

I called 111 on Mon 15th Jan as I was experiencing a heavy feeling in my chest, a first responder was dispatched to my home, he was there so quick and confirmed I was having a heart attack, an ambulance came in 10 minutes and I was blue lighted to hospital. They acted so quickly and efficiently, they were friendly and kept me calm. I went into cardiac arrest in the way and they bought me back, they saved my life. Amazing people. I can't thank you enough.

Review titled My mother was treated with dignity and great care
by Berrick - Posted on 25 January 2023
My 82-year-old mum was stuck in the bath and could not get out. She was too heavy for me to lift so we had to wait for an ambulance to come and help. She was very stressed but the ambulance crew were amazing - they made her feel relaxed and after they had got her out of the bath, the female crew member helped my mum have a shower as she was in a bad state after being in the bath for a while. She did not have to do this, but it was very much appreciated and the care that my mum was shown was great. It is not the first time my mum has needed help from the ambulance and as always she was treated with dignity and great care. We have a wonderful system in the UK and all the emergency services are amazing - we need to look after the emergency services who are fantastic and well appreciated. Thank you to the crew who helped my mum that Sunday in December 2022.

Review titled Faultless and so caring
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Phil - Posted on 04 December 2022
I had a heart attack and the ambulance arrived incredibly quickly. The two crew members were wonderful, putting me at ease and explaining what was going on. On the way to the hospital the crew member who stayed in the back with me even had me laughing! The driver was superb and got me to hospital in double quick time, and I had three stents fitted very quickly. I can’t praise the ambulance crew enough. They were so kind and caring, knowledgeable and gentle. I feel very beholden to them and they are real superstars in every sense of the word.
