  1. Review titled If I need a hospital again, it should be Ashtead Hospital.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended for an overnight stay and a colonoscopy earlier this month. I was really impressed by the friendliness and care shown to me by the endoscopy team and in particular the nursing and support staff that made my stay so pleasant. Not only was the colonoscopy pain-free, the attention from the surgeon and his staff was first-rate. The care from the nursing staff was so genuine and I was made to feel that I was the No 1 person in the hospital. The food and service were extremely good. I live in an organisation where food is provided and they could certainly learn from the quality and procedures used in the Ashtead Hospital. An example of the help I was given involved a nurse going to my car to find the keys I had dropped there when I arrived at 7.15 am after an hour's drive. With all good wishes and thanks to everyone.

  2. Review titled Not a good experience.

The hospital was fine. Waiting area comfortable. Appointment on time but I felt that the the consultant thought that I was totally wasting his time. He was abrupt and lacking in empathy. Maybe if I was paying rather than NHS his approach would have been different.

  3. Review titled Pleasantly surprised

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Having had experienced two private hospital this year, one as a paying customer & the other via the NHS, which both left a lot to be desired, I was somewhat dubious about attending this hospital, especially given its many poor reveiws. I was, however very pleasantly surprised. Every staff member I encountered was very pleasant, cheerful & attentive especially the nurse who was looking after me. I had a procedure under local anaesthetic & both the theatre team & consultant kept me informed about what was happening & were very attentive. I had a superb sandwich & was well looked after. As expected I was given lots of information about my operation, post operative care & other advice.

  4. Review titled Disgusting service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Recovery nurses rude, patronising, abrupt, not caring or empathetic. Worst nurses I have ever been in contact with. No apology just blamed everything on myself and refused anymore pain relief when in 10/10 pain. Stated ‘did you not know the surgery was going to be painful’ a nurse myself and was told ‘I thought you were a nurse’ sarcastically. Rolled eyes and stated ‘good luck’ to another nurse taking over my care. Ward nurses were very good recovery nurses let it down massively. Self funded private patient, would’ve had better care in NHS hospital!

  5. Review titled Everything superb

Rated 5 stars out of 5

From arriving at the hospital to leaving later the same day having had cataract surgery the whole experience was faultless. The hospital was spotless and everyone from the Receptionist, the nurses, the team where I had the surgery were polite and professional.. Everything was explained to me very clearly and I was relaxed during the whole experience. After surgery the food I ordered beforehand arrived immediately and was delicious. Congratulations Ashtead you exceeded expectations.

  6. Review titled Wonderful Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended on 17th May 2023 for a gastroscopy/colonoscopy. The care from the start was wonderful. Despite not being a private patient, I was given a private room. All staff were kind, caring and reassuring. I was treated with dignity and respect. I suffer with anxiety, and allowing my husband to stay with me was wonderful. The hospital is clean and tidy.
