Review titled Great Friendly Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karen - Posted on 29 April 2024
This afternoon I had an appointment for an ECG at 5.15pm. I arrived one hour early and was greeted by a very friendly Receptionist who was helpful and informed me where I needed to go and helped me with my parking query. When I arrived at the ECG department I informed them that I was very early and sat down to read my book. There were 2 people in front of me who were seen and then they saw me. Both members of staff were friendly and courteous. I had my procedure and was back in my car after 30 mins and 30 minutes before I was supposed to be seen. I cannot thank the staff I met today enough for their friendlyness and professionalism. This is the 2nd time I have visited this hospital and it has not disappointed me. Thank you.

Review titled Urgent care
Rated 1 star out of 5

Went here for an ‘appointment’ that 111 have me. Waited 5 hours to be seen. The lady at reception was very rude! And so was the lady who did the initial check and also the doctor! Can’t believe it. I understand it may have been a long stressful day but to be rude and inconsiderate to people who are already unwell and have just waited 5 hours is appalling. Worst thing is, after giving me and my 6 month old a diagnosis she didn’t explain it at all or be reassuring that it was okay or anything. Can’t believe this is where our tax money goes… to very rude staff!

Review titled Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5

This was my first time attending the urgent care unit and I was extremely disappointed. There is zero duty of care. I was in agony to the point of tears, I was not offered any paracetamol as I had a high temperature, I started to get extremely cold from having the shivers, was told there are no blankets and was dumped in a room with nothing. After waiting 2-3hrs, the doctor spent about 2 minutes on me and sent me away with antibiotics. No tests, no questions, it felt like my diagnosis was a guessing game.

Review titled Mri mobile unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Janice Phillips - Posted on 23 February 2024
I went to the mri mobile unit. But I felt claustrophobic. The two gentlemen were excellent. They tried everything to help me. Relax. Took a long time explaining and showing me everything. They both could not do any more possible. These gentlemen were amazing. Unfortunately I was scared as a kitten. And could not have it done. But I want to say a big thank you to these guys. They were amazing.

Review titled Terrible communication
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Had a call from a sonographer?on 14th/02/24 to inform me someone had cancelled their appointment so I can be slotted in at 7pm for my cardio scan . I was at work and had to rush taking multiple transport arrange childcare and meet my partner for the appointment at barking upney hospital . We were asked by the security what we were there for, he then told us to go the reception and wait someone will call us. Thought that wasn’t right. So we asked the receptionist, he informed us to sit and will be next after a particular patient. Appointment was at 7 we got there around 18.25. After 7pm we saw a lady talking to the receptionist with a list and walked out. After 7.30 we went to the receptionist who told us , that scanning service has nothing to do with them and that the lady came and asked if anyone was here for a scan. It’s a very small area quite and nobody came to asked if anyone was awaiting scan. This has caused a lot of stress and waste of time. Firstly this appointment was booked and confirmed via text plus telephone. So I would think you will call out my name and not expect me to walk to any room to an unfamiliar place. Lastly calling me and confirming that I am coming I thought u will call my number as you had communicated with me earlier. At a time when nhs is so stretched, this should not be happening. This is a very messy service and unprofessional.

Review titled Brilliant staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lisa Gilmour - Posted on 13 July 2023
I came to the hospital on 11th July for a CT scan. I was very nervous and passed out when the canula was put in my arm. The three staff members there (a lady and two gentlemen) were very kind and patient with me. I could not ask for better service and it is heartening to be looked after so well by professional and kind people. Thank you.

I'm been under mental health for years on / off Iv just spoke on phone to administrator. No help at all. Just wants me off phone and keeps telling me call doctor. Call pharmacist. I had an appointment 4 weeks ago with mental health and was prescribed increased meds. 4 weeks not got nothing. And they don't want to help. It makes me feel no one wants to help me

Review titled Barking Hospital Mental Health Care

After a little rocky start, finally I've understood what a great mental health team is looking after my son at the Barking Community Mental Health Hospital. Almost 18 months on, my son is still receiving on-going treatment here. I'm very grateful to both his doctor and the assigned care co-ordinator for looking after my son, being supportive and open to suggestions. I'm also very grateful for their patience, kindness, understanding and respect for me, the mother of the patient. Thank you all. 🙏
