Review titled Lack of communication
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 March 2025
Whilst I had my blood pressure and blood sugar levels taken regularly, I felt there was no communication about how I was progressing and felt almost abandoned at times. When I was told I was being discharged, I wasn't kept informed of any progress and I didn't have my personal items fully ready when the transport ambulance man arrived to take me home. I appreciate the nurses are very busy and efficient but just few moments of "bedside manner" would have been appreciated. On the plus side, the meals were good and served in a efficient and friendly manner.

Review titled Deeply unprofessional, Refused appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mihaela P - Posted on 10 February 2025
So today I had an appointment in Maternity unit Floor C room 3 and the doctor refused to see me because I did not bring my book and also because I had my son with me. I have asked another nurse before my appointment if is any issue that I did not bring my book and she said that they will sort it out but my doctor from room numebr 3 refused to see me . What if I would have lost it ? What if someone would have steal it or it would have been burned it fire ? I would not be able to have my appointments because I do not have a book with me? I find it so unprofessional mainly because someone else told me that they can see me without it ...it is just disgusting and also when I went to have another appointment booked they have told me that it no available just in a month time or more....in a month time I may give birth but they really dont care...I really dont know what on earth is happening with the world but is so bad that you cannot be seen unless that doctor choose to see you based on a book...I would give zero stars it I could or I would just shut the hospital for good until something changes!

Review titled Waste of tax payers money
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2024
The queue in A and e far too long so called 111 having waited an hour for a clinicians call, was referred to the out of hours dr instead of which I saw a nurse, who then referred me to the a and e triage nurse and dr who requested ct scan I was then triaged again in a and e to be seen by a dr apparently to authorise my ct scan. There are receptionists doing nothing but chatting, two nurses in rooms you go in to all typing the same information you have already given them in the same system. The an and e is filthy no drinks no food available vending machine not working and 9 hours still waiting …. At least they will make a fortune out of the car park.

Today I underwent a colonoscopy of which I was extremely nervous. However , the staff were professional, efficient and above all, every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. They made it a whilst not pleasant, a much more easy experience. Thank you.

Review titled Cannot contact Hospital Dermatology Department
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2024
I have sent an email that could not be delivered and was returned. I reported it to the 'postmaster'. I have tried telephoning but no options were deemed 'legitimate'. It used to be easy to contact the Hospital. Now it is impossible. I need to cancel an appointment but have no way to do this!!

A big shout out to Kim working in the Fracture Clinic. She has a really lovely way with patients - making us feel at ease - she is a really kind, caring person - no doubt working in very difficult circumstances at times. It made all the difference to my husband's recent visit. Thank you Kim.

Received 1st class treatment during my stay. Thank you all who looked after me during my stay.

I recently had experience to use the Resus Unit at Basildon Hospital followed by a short stay of 4 days in the Katherine Monk Ward. I would like to say how efficient the Resus Unit was The staff were very attentive and then once I got to the ward the staff were all exceptional, polite, helpul and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were all so friendly.
