Review titled Waste of tax payers money
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2024
The queue in A and e far too long so called 111 having waited an hour for a clinicians call, was referred to the out of hours dr instead of which I saw a nurse, who then referred me to the a and e triage nurse and dr who requested ct scan I was then triaged again in a and e to be seen by a dr apparently to authorise my ct scan. There are receptionists doing nothing but chatting, two nurses in rooms you go in to all typing the same information you have already given them in the same system. The an and e is filthy no drinks no food available vending machine not working and 9 hours still waiting …. At least they will make a fortune out of the car park.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Today I underwent a colonoscopy of which I was extremely nervous. However , the staff were professional, efficient and above all, every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. They made it a whilst not pleasant, a much more easy experience. Thank you.

Review titled Cannot contact Hospital Dermatology Department
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have sent an email that could not be delivered and was returned. I reported it to the 'postmaster'. I have tried telephoning but no options were deemed 'legitimate'. It used to be easy to contact the Hospital. Now it is impossible. I need to cancel an appointment but have no way to do this!!

A big shout out to Kim working in the Fracture Clinic. She has a really lovely way with patients - making us feel at ease - she is a really kind, caring person - no doubt working in very difficult circumstances at times. It made all the difference to my husband's recent visit. Thank you Kim.

I was recently admitted to basildon for parathyroid surgery and cannot praise enough, all the staff in the day care unit and general surgery, my surgeon was fantastic, and every member of staff were so professional and caring. Received 1st class treatment during my stay. Thank you all who looked after me during my stay.

I recently had experience to use the Resus Unit at Basildon Hospital followed by a short stay of 4 days in the Katherine Monk Ward. I would like to say how efficient the Resus Unit was The staff were very attentive and then once I got to the ward the staff were all exceptional, polite, helpul and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were all so friendly.

Review titled Very Supportive Nurse
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Francis - Posted on 20 September 2024
I took my wife for her appointment at gynaecology department, Basildon hospital today and we had a very good experience at the hospital. The good experience started from the receptionist who checked us in. She was polite, welcoming and gave us clear instructions and directions about where to go and wait for the clinical team. All members of the clinical team that looked after my wife were polite and professional. One nurse stood out though. Nurse Caroline was extremely supportive, friendly, polite and very supportive. My wife felt unwell during the procedure. She felt weak, vomiting several times and had severe cramping lower abdominal pains. Nurse Caroline provided us with all the reassurance we needed and when it was time for us to go home, she walked and held my wife who was still in pain to my car. Thank you, Nurse Caroline.

Review titled Unprofessional
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lauren - Posted on 24 September 2024
Unprofessional and unorganised A&E department. My husband went in today for chest pains that would not go away, he had a blood test done and was called back in by the doctor/nurse who had lost his paperwork and had to ask him again what the problem was. He was then sent back into the waiting area and when called back into the doctor's room, told he had something wrong with his muscles and to take paracetamol, and his words were 'case closed' and gave no other explanation. My husband then asked what it was exactly and how long it would last, and the doctors said he has told him everything he needed to know and to talk to his GP if he had any questions. Rude and unprofessional. I dont understand how people get these jobs when they have no care or compassion. They just want to get you out of their quick as they can.
