  1. Review titled Completely not accessible

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by Jacob p - Posted on 19 June 2024

I have had this experience with all the departments I have come into contact with at Basingstoke hospital. I am currently under the care of the Orthopedics department and I have autism. I enquired about a rough estimation for my surgery due to booking a holiday and was asked to call the secretary. I have severe anxiety when using the phone so I can't call. There needs to be more accessible options for people like me who find phone calls incredibly challenging.

  2. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tracy Greenall - Posted on 12 March 2024

All a&e /aau staff treated my 82 Year old father extremely well. Very attentive and caring. Also all staff in f1 were very caring and made you feel welcome. Saw staff going over and above their duties for all patients. My father's health became challenging at times and all staff did everything they could to help him feel comfortable. Well done to everyone.

  6. Review titled Incredible staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Lloyd - Posted on 15 February 2024

I recently had 5 days stay in Acc and the Cardiology Ward. All of the staff were superb, right the way through from the paramedics in the ambulance to the cardiologist I saw every day. It almost felt like private health care, they were just so amazing. They left no stone unturned to establish my condition and kept me fully informed every step of the way. Each team continued the great care of the previous team and at no time did I feel unsupported. My huge thank you to all of them and my total gratitude for everything they did. I'm now home, healthy and well informed about my own part in continuing my good health. Thank You Basingstoke Hospital!!

  7. Review titled Poor breastfeeding support

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 February 2024

Breastfeeding mum of a 3 month old and needed urgent medical attention. Once I was seen at 3am, I needed to wait for a doctor, purely because they needed to check what I could take due to breastfeeding, and I was told by the staff that they didn’t start work until 9am. Am I to understand there were no other doctors in the hospital? Nobody else who could check which medication I could take so I could get home to my baby? I asked if it was ok for my husband to bring my baby in the morning for her feed, was told no. I asked for a breast pump, was made to feel like it was the biggest issue and a lot of effort and not worth it. I ended up have to go and feed my baby in the car and come back. I was left tearful, engorged and in a lot of pain because I could not feed my 3 month old. Not what I expected from the NHS who are supposed to advocate the “breast is best” but refuse to let me feed or pump. She’s exclusively breastfed, doesn’t have a bottle, and I risked developing clogged ducts and mastitis. Please do better to support breastfeeding mothers who require medical help. I was left extremely emotional and hope the next mother is left with a far better experience than mine.

  8. Review titled great hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by VIVIENNE Hazell - Posted on 02 December 2023

I was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Covid hit us. Covid made no difference to my treatment. I was seen for the initial appt within the 2 week window and everyone, I mean, everyone was so helpful and lovely. All during the chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I was treated so well, nothing was too much trouble. I would especially like to thank the Rainbow Unit, they are marvellous and really made my stay the best it could have been. Today, December 2023, I have just had another mammogram and again, the staff were so lovely, it is not a pleasant procedure, but they made it as pleasant as possible. Thank you to all the staff who have cared for me. xx
